About the adventure

Are you ready for adventure? I'm going to be running a Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition campaign in the style of a "West Marches" game, set within the perilous jungles of Chult from the Tomb of Annihilation module! What is a "West Marches" game? Think of it like a shared, open-world D&D experience. Unlike a traditional campaign where a consistent group of players progresses through a story together, a West Marches game features: Open Table: Not every player needs to be at every session. You sign up for games as they're scheduled, and the party composition might change from session to session. Player-Driven Exploration: The players decide where they want to go and what they want to do. I, as the DM, am more of a reactive force, presenting the world and its challenges, rather than guiding you down a specific plotline. Persistent World: This is the big one! What happens in one session, with one group of players, affects the entire world for everyone else. If a monster is defeated, it's gone. If a discovery is made, that information is now available (or not, depending on what the players do with it). This means that multiple groups of players will be impacting the same ongoing narrative. No Central Plot (Initially): While the overarching goal of stopping the death curse from Tomb of Annihilation will be present, the immediate focus is on exploration, resource management, and facing the dangers of Chult. The "story" emerges from the players' actions. Campaign Details: Game Module: Tomb of Annihilation (D&D 5e) Style: West Marches Online Platform: We'll be playing on Roll20 for maps and dice, and using Discord for voice chat and campaign organization. Characters: To facilitate the open table and persistent world, players will likely be running multiple characters, probably at least two each. This allows for flexibility in party composition and gives you options for different adventuring groups. Character Creation - Old School Style: Ability Scores: Roll 3d6 in order for your Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. Hit Points: You will roll your hit points at every level after first level. You will not add your Constitution modifier to your hit points after first level. Your first level hit points will be the maximum for your class's hit die plus your Constitution modifier. Cantrips: The number of cantrips you know will be limited to your proficiency bonus plus your character level. Schedule: I'm aiming to run games on Monday evenings. Specific times will be organized based on player availability. Get ready to brave the dangers of Chult, make your mark on a living, evolving world, and perhaps even save it from the death curse! More details on character creation and how to sign up will be coming soon.

About me

Tired of D&D feeling like a textbook? Ready for an adventure where your story takes center stage? Your Adventure, Unleashed I'm here to bring your wildest D&D dreams to life, not just roll dice. "You are the story!" is my mantra. Forget getting bogged down in rigid rules; while we respect the game's framework, I thrive on the "Rule of Cool." If your epic, creative, or just plain awesome idea stretches the rules a bit but makes the moment unforgettable, we're doing it! My homebrew touches might make the challenges tougher, but they'll always be geared towards making your triumphs more rewarding. After over 20 years playing RPGs and 15 years in entertainment (including improv comedy and character impressions!), I'm ready to moderate and lean into whatever wild direction the party wants to go. The Chilling Call of Icespire Peak Our journey begins in the rugged frontier town of Phandalin. A fearsome white dragon, Cryovain, terrorizes the lands, driving monstrous creatures from the icy peaks straight into the struggling town. 🐉❄️ Roads are perilous, farms are abandoned, and a desperate plea for heroes echoes through the valleys. Will you be the ones to answer the call, or will the region succumb to Cryovain's icy reign? I'm looking for all types of adventurers – whether you're a valiant warrior, a cunning rogue, a wise wizard, or any hero you can dream up, your unique skills and personality will shape our epic tale! Let's Get Started! To ensure a smooth launch into our adventure, please have these ready: Headphone Microphone: Essential for crystal-clear communication. Roll20 Account: Our virtual tabletop for maps and dice. D&D Beyond Account: For character sheets and rules. We'll kick things off with a Session Zero. This is our no-pressure pre-game where we'll create characters, discuss expectations, establish comfort zones, and go over basic rules. My absolute priority is that everyone feels comfortable and has a blast. While I'm open to most content, sexual content is off-limits. If anything ever makes you uncomfortable, please message me directly and privately. Your comfort is key! Ready to ditch the rulebooks and dive headfirst into adventure? Let's make some unforgettable stories together!

The game will be more difficult, so prepare for gritty. I dont want characters to die but they may. So several characters shouldbe made in advance.
