About the adventure

Through mysterious dreams and revelations within the heroes were led to an abandoned tea-house in an unassuming spot near a city state in the Hundred Kingdoms. A heavy rain helds them there for a night, were they stumble on a magical scroll that held the answers for the omens that led them here. However, the scrolls is just the first part of a bigger mystery, one that may be the key for the first step in their ascension as true legends... "Exalted: Hundred Kingdoms" is campaign for Solars and Lunar characters, led to find each other by a common but mysterious influence so they can journey across the scavenger lands to make their own fortune as they investigate the mystery of what brought them together and discover the world around them. This is a beginner friendly campaign, in which you don't need to know the lore in depth or have previous experience to play. As a DM, I've been DMing games in the Storyteller system for the better part of 15 years, and altough this is one of my first experiences with Ex3 itself I'll be glad to guide players in learning about the system and world as we play!

About me

Hello! My name is Daniel and I've been a GM since my first time playing when I was 13 years old. I'm also a Psychologist, and my deep interest in the human mind has helped me in my DM journey, crafting worlds, characters, stories and connections between them, creating vibrant worlds for my players to immerse themselves in.

Character creation

Creating your character

The characters will be either Solar or Lunar Exalted, created according to the rules for those in their respective books. We'll do an Session 0 for character creation, but in case you enter the game after it, no problem, I can take the time to schedule a voice chat with you so we can make your character together. Knowledge of how character creation works in the game is helpful, but I can provide access to the main books we'll be using if you don't have them, so that's also not required - although you'll probably like to read them a bit before character creation as to better understand the setting and possibilities for the characters.

The current party

We currently have a Changing-Moons Lunar, a Dawn Solar and a Twilight Solar. The game is set on a sub-region of the hundred kingdoms directly south of Greyfalls (as inspired by the players ideas and polished by me) - a lore doc with a general overview of the local polities and the rumors about them (including a hexmap to ilustrate the geography) is available on the discord server.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

This campaign will be DMed with a combination of Discord and Foundry VTT as the plataforms for play. You'll need a microphone and a Discord account, a computed with the Discord app installed and a good internet connection.

What Daniel E. brings to the table

I use Discord for voice chat and Foundry VTT for sheets, dice and maps (if applicable). My style varies a bit depending on the game, but I've been found of using battlemaps when applicable, some of the custom made for the specific scene. As Exalted is an Epic Fantasy game involving a lot of Stunts (which is an actual mechanic in-game) we will focus more on the Theater of the Mind aspect. I like to use music during the session, with a low volume to not disturb the narrative (which I can regulate well through Foundry, and you can also tweak on your end).

Homebrew rules

We're changing the Crafting rules so that you don't need Crafting XP to start projects, but you can use those to reduce the time needed for them (which we assumed to be in the upper end of the expected or slightly raised) - which keeps the incentive to use Crafting but doesn't make "craft grind" to be necessary for doing what you want.
