About the adventure
In Velmire, the moons do more than light the night sky—they define what you are. Lycanthropy isn’t a curse whispered in taverns; it’s life. Entire societies shift beneath the influence of nine moons, each governing a different strain of the beast within—feline, avian, rodent, aquatic, even insectoid. Most learn to live with their transformations. Some suppress them. A few seek mastery. You are one of the Moonmarked—born under multiple lunar signs, gifted and cursed in equal measure. As the moons circle, combinations of full phases trigger strange effects: unstable transformations, prophetic dreams, or violent bloodlust. Most folk avoid traveling under certain skies. But something has shifted. The Shadow Moon, Umbrac, stirs. This campaign blends survival, identity, mystery, and transformation. You’ll explore a world built around lycanthropy: from moon-aligned guilds and cursed bloodlines to secret rites and dangerous lunar phenomena. Players must navigate shifting alliances, factional tensions, and their own inner beasts. Will you become Integrated—fully harmonized with your lycanthropic nature—or fall to your own frenzy. Gameplay Features 🌓 A unique moon-based lycanthropy system with deep transformation mechanics 🌕 Political intrigue and societal systems based on lunar alignment 🌑 A rich calendar-driven world with shifting lunar events and eclipses 🐾 Custom beasts, transformation paths, and moon-specific powers 🌗 Emphasis on identity, self-mastery, and the nature of control Session Style Roleplay-forward with strong narrative arcs Rule-of-cool encouraged where it serves story Custom content and world-specific rules explained clearly and accessibly.

What Randy brings to the table
As your GM, my priority is to create a story you’ll remember—and one that you feel a part of. This campaign isn’t just about surviving the world of Velmire; it’s about shaping it through the choices your character makes and how they wrestle with their own inner beast. Here’s what you can expect at my table: 🎭 Immersive Roleplay & Collaborative Storytelling I fully support deep character arcs, meaningful choices, and strong roleplay moments. Expect to face moral dilemmas, inner conflict, and opportunities to express who your character is beyond the sheet. I play NPCs with unique personalities and motives, and love when players invest in the social and emotional fabric of the world. ⚔️ Cinematic Combat with Tactical Depth Combat is meaningful, fast-paced, and narratively rich. I lean into cinematic descriptions and encourage creative solutions in battle. I use custom mechanics for transformations, lunar effects, and beast abilities to make lycanthropy feel unique and dangerous. Tactical players will find plenty to dig into, but the Rule of Cool is always on the table—especially when it elevates drama or character moments. 🌕 Homebrew with Clarity This campaign includes custom lycanthropy mechanics, lunar event tracking, and a unique transformation system. But don’t worry—I explain everything clearly and make sure you have easy reference tools. You’ll never be lost in the crunch. My goal is for mechanics to deepen immersion, not distract from it. 🛠️ Tools & Resources I Provide Quick-reference guides for your lycanthropic strain A lunar calendar tracking major events and eclipses Session recaps and narrative summaries Discord for out-of-game RP and community Optional visuals, maps, and art inspiration If you're looking for a game where you can unleash the beast, and leave your mark on a mythic world shaped by the moons, you've found your seat at the fire.
Homebrew rules
- Critical hit damage is max die damage plus your role. (Ex. with a Longsword that does 1d8+5. You deal 8 automatically, then roll and add 1d8+5), - Dying Breath, this is an optinoal mechanic where if you fall to 0 HP, instead of KO, you can choose to permanently die. But as a reaction you get one final turn and everything you do is a critical hit. - Lycanthropy rules are too complex to put here, but I will provide them once we field a full party - 1 gold is roughly equivalent to 1 USD. This makes it much easier on us all to conceptualize if for example, a room at the tavern is cheap (18gp = Bates Motel) or expensive (280gp = VIP room). Forget all other currency (cp, sp, pp) there's enough math in DnD already.
