About the adventure
Marlowe Fairwind, the right-hand sorcerer of King Emeris, has gathered her most trusted allies to carry an important package to Hush, a small village within the ancient forest of Sablewood. The crate is large, heavy and sealed with magic, addressed to the Whitefire Arcanist. You’ve been given a map and a carriage, and the promise of reward upon your arrival. Learn to Play the newly released TTRPG everyone is talking about in this tailored one shot! Daggerheart is a narrative game meant for collaborative storytelling with players and GMs both building the world together! But sometimes you just want to skip all that and learn the mechanics! This one shot is built with that in mind. We'll play with pre-generated character sheets and run through a short adventure with clear goals in mind! Perfect for test driving a new system, without having to worry if your character idea is interesting enough or stressing about thinking up dramatic ideas.

About me
Picture it - 1986. 5 children sit around a table while an adult teaches them to play D&D. One small, blonde girl rolls an oddly shaped die and the number facing up is a 20. The children cheer! That little girl wasn't me, it was my little sister. But even though that moment wasn't about my character it has stuck with me all these years. That is the power of role playing games. I played AD&D 2e until my early 20's when life just got too busy and friends drifted apart. I came back to the hobby like many others, after watching many hours of Actual Plays during the pandemic and deciding I just HAD to play again. Since finding a DM is hard and all those hours of watching others play made me feel like I knew the rules, I felt that the only way I could play again was to be the DM. I scoured the internet for one shots and other DMs to hone my craft with. I discovered Foundry and Adventurer's League and have been learning and growing with every game. I am really happy learning new systems and styles and always grab the opportunity to learn, play in or run new RPGs!

Creating your character
The following pre-generated characters will be used for this game: Marlowe Fairwind, the Loreborne Elf Sorcerer She is the personal mage to King Emeris, and is responsible for bringing this group together. She appears calm, until she isn’t. Barnacle, the Underborne Ribbet Rogue There is no danger he will not get into, and no situation he cannot get out of. He fears water and will not swim. Garrick Reed, the Highborne Human Warrior A defector from a distant military force, he approaches most conflict with a “kill ‘em with kindness” attitude. Khari Nix, the Ridgeborne Giant Guardian Loyal to the end, with a dry sense of humor, she will suffer no fools. Khari was practically born with an axe in her hand. Varian Soto, the Wildborne Katari Ranger They take a “shoot first, ask questions later” approach. Any problem that can’t be solved with a bow, isn’t a problem yet.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a mic, a webcam is useful but not necessary. Mic etiquette is mandatory. We will be using Discord for voice chat and voluntary music accompaniment. Please join my Discord as soon as possible to meet the other players and choose your character. The link will be in the Play Materials after you join the game.

How Celticdenefew creates a safe table
We won't be having a full session 0, but we will spend sometime going over safety tools and what we want out of the game. We will be using Lines and Veils. There will be no Sexual Assault, chattel slavery, Racism, Homophobia or Transphobia in this game. I use a Safety Palette Google doc based on the Luxton technique as seen in games like Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Apocalypse Keys.
