Report Adventure

About the adventure

Across vast expanses of the galaxy, old kingdoms and decadent imperiums cling to fading glory, and in their twilight emerge both untold dangers and the chance for new legends to be born. As part of an independent starship crew, you will strike out across the stars seeking grand adventures, engaging in ancient noble feuds, and surviving cosmic horrors. Every path in this open-ended space opera campaign offers thrilling possibilities: become savvy traders running daring interstellar smuggling routes, a cunning spy navigating the halls of power, or an intrepid explorer uncovering lost technologies on uncharted worlds. Steel your nerves to confront dark horrors – from derelict ghost ships drifting in the void to alien nightmares creeping in the dark. You can even rally allies to build your own faction or empire, leading armies and starfleets in epic battles that will shape the destiny of civilizations. The galaxy is a sandbox of adventure, ripe for trading, espionage, exploration, empire-building, and fearless conflicts against light and dark forces. This campaign is inspired by sci-fi properties such as Star Wars, Dune, and Aliens, and will blend heroism with horror among the stars. The tone is bold and adventurous, as every decision shapes your legacy and determines the galaxy’s fate.

About me

Hello, my name is Dave, but I usually go by CX. I've run TTRPGs on and off for over twenty years. These games have mostly involved D&D and different White Wolf games, but I am open to any system. As a GM, I like to make sessions challenging and as engaging as possible, but not necessarily deadly. I am fairly easy going as long as everyone is having fun. When I am not playing, I collect a wide variety of TTRPGs and are always on the look out for new, innovative systems. I love technology, tinker with game design and do a little writing on the side.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at 2nd level and should use the origins and classes from the Voidrunner's Codex by En Publishing. Other heritages will also be available from Level Up's Advanced Fifth Edition. While psionic will play a significant role, fantasy magic is rare. Level Up's fantasy classes or backgrounds will only be allowed on a case-by-case basis and hindered by the setting's advanced technology. Other 5e sources are not allowed. During session 0, the group will build their starship and decide the campaign focus. Each player will develop their character on Alchemy VTT. The campaign will use the Level Up's Advanced Fifth Edition rules which can be found at https://www.levelup5e.com

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Each session will be voice-only on Discord, and a mic is required. The game will use Alchemy VTT, which requires a player to have a reasonably modern web browser on a laptop or computer. Alchemy VTT has a free signup. Level Up and other 5e resources, including rules and character creation, are available at https://a5e.tools.

What GM Dave (CX) brings to the table

The game will be hosted on the Alchemy VTT server and feature tactical maps, immersive scenes, and an expansive open-world map. I’ll also provide ambient music to enhance the atmosphere. I aim to keep sessions challenging and engaging while ensuring they aren’t unnecessarily deadly.

Safety

How GM Dave (CX) creates a safe table

I run an open table and welcome all opinions and feedback. I will work with each of you to address any concerns. All players must submit their Lines and Veils before their first game session. X cards will be used to stop gameplay if anyone feels uncomfortable. There will be one break in each session.
