About the adventure
In the far off land of East Coast, USA, between Maine and New Hampshire sits the city of Sonder, a bustling metropolis with retired adventurers running 5ks, undead mobsters funding the arts, and fey baristas that would LOVE a name for your order. Car Chases, Bank Heists, and Mob Hits, oh my! This homebrew campaign is set in a large city in 1950's America. Players are encouraged to write bombastic, over the top Adventurers, reimagined through the lens of the Post-War economic boom. Together we will tailor the campaign around your backstories to make a legend all our own. Uncover a secret plot to topple the city government, or maybe enact the plan yourselves! In a city where adventurers and ordinary people coexist side by side, there's always something interesting happening in Sonder! (Due to the timeframe of the setting, I want to make one thing clear: No racism, homophobia or bigotry will be tolerated in this game.)

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm Fennec! I started playing DND5e when I was 15, and got hooked immediately. Since then, I've run and played in countless games, including my home game which has been running solid for about 3 years now. - I tend to run fairly rules-light games, often opting for the fun option over the practical. - My favorite thing to do is work with players to ingrain their characters into the setting through their backstory. - I have a stockpile of homebrew content that I've gathered over the years, and I love adding to it. In my home game, one of my players is a God of Death and can deal over 401kN of force in an attack. (Math is fun) The way I see it, the game is about telling stories with friends and laughing when the dice have their say. I look forward to playing with y'all!

Creating your character
Session one will cover character creation, backstory discussion, and introductions. Homebrew is encouraged, though any published content from WOTC is fair game. I encourage people to play fun, bombastic characters, regardless of stats. The setting is full of over the top action, built with this idea in mind. Starting level will be 3
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have a Microphone at least, cameras are welcome! The first session will be spent on character building and introductions, as well as a primer for the setting itself and what to expect. A Roll20 account will be needed, as well as Discord for voice chat/screenshare. If this is your first time playing or you're a little fuzzy on rules, don't worry! Shoot me a message on discord and we can make sure that you're up to speed enough to enjoy the game with help from the other players and myself. We all learned at some point!
What Fennec brings to the table
I will be running the combats through Roll20 I am the DM that Rule Lawyers make case studies about. I've been told in the past that I've got a 'healthy disrespect for rules as intended'. In my games, if a player wants to do something out of the box, it will almost always have a better chance of succeeding than the boring option. What's an adventure without a little Chaos?
Homebrew rules
Obviously this setting requires a fair amount of homebrew materials. The intention was always for this to be a setting in which players could flex their creativity and make a story that they want to tell. If that story is a Gunslinging renegade cop, We can make it happen. If it's a time traveling swordsman from the year 20XX, we can make it work. Players are encouraged to throw ideas at the wall during session zero, where we will all come together to make a party. What's a party without a little mayhem? On a real note, just don't go nuts. Mage Hand Press is a great place to look, they have free and paid classes that I've run and played at my tables in the past. Legends of Avernus has some very interesting options, too! There are a lot of great people in the community that are selling some really cool stuff, this is a shameless plug for an industry I love. My only ask is that if you bring me paid materials, that you obtain them legally and not pirate/steal them. People put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making content for the game we all love, the least we can do is not steal from them.

How Fennec creates a safe table
I speak to every player personally to ensure that no lines are crossed on either side. If there is something that happens in the moment, I am always willing to rewind and make sure that everyone is comfortable and enjoying themselves. It's up to us to keep each other accountable, and to be frank when things go too far.
