About the adventure

You have always believed yourself to be a human in the modern world, but you are about to make a number of alarming discoveries. The Norse gods are real. One of them is your parent. And the world is about to end, unless you can prevent it. This is the Ragnarok cycle for Scion published by White Wolf, with some changes. Depending on what decisions you make, you might save some of the gods and some of the world. Your character begins a pre-Visitation Scion. You can choose which god you want to be a Scion of normally before Session Zero, but it's not mandatory; it would work very well for you not to know in or out of character who your divine parent is until your Visitation.

About me

I've been playing and GMing a variety of games for over thirty years now. I love stories focused on characters and their development and the drama which ensues while they are growing through the story. I work to create a welcoming and safe environment for POC and LGBTQ+ players.

Character creation
Creating your character

Your character starts mechanically an ordinary human. Their Visitation will happen in Session Zero or at the beginning of Session One. Please come to Session One with an idea of your character's post-Visitation stats. All Scion 1E sources are allowed. I also have a number of house rules which can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IUvbEqvJY1fjKcp_EdY9T_nbUxJbPGdvZaKOmRRQAFo/edit?usp=sharing.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

We'll be using Discord. A microphone and reliable connection is needed, a webcam is not. You need to come up with a concept for a real-world person who doesn't know who at least one of their biological parents is (but may believe they do), and decide if there are any Norse gods you do _not_ want to turn out to be that person's divine parent. From there, I can give you as much or as little help with character creation as you want.

What Beroli brings to the table

The game will be hosted on Discord, mostly or entirely using Theatre of the Mind. Session Zero will be free.

How Beroli creates a safe table

There will be a discussion of lines, veils, and triggers during Session Zero, with people being free to add more at any time (or to subtract some, if they decide something doesn't actually need to be a line or a veil). Several common triggers (pet death, for one example) I will simply avoid whether any players bring them up or not because I find them unpleasant to dwell on. Violence is part of the game as it is of most RPGs, but I don't plan on being graphic about it. Because of the nature of the Ragnarok cycle, billions of people will certainly die off-screen and there is a serious chance the world will end.
