About the adventure
Sitting in the tavern you've been quietly enjoying your meal when a man bursts in, yelling about how monsters have taken his daughter! The patrons turn to look at you. Well, you wanted to be an adventurer? Time to show you have what it takes! This introductory adventure has been designed for players entirely new to D&D, giving you a rundown of the basics from combat to skill checks and more. Imagine this quest as your tutorial introduction to the exciting game of Dungeons & Dragons!
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

How to prepare
A mic is required for voice chat, as is the Discord program. You will also need a Roll20 account (free), as character sheets and dice rolls will be tracked there. You will need to use a computer to access Roll20. Webcams are welcome if you want to use one but are not required. I will screen share a player-side view of Roll20 within Discord as a teaching tool, allowing me to visually direct and instruct players on navigating Roll20 and their sheets as needed. NOTE: Be advised that I do not personally use a live-action camera during gameplay, but rather have an animated avatar that motion tracks my face and movements. My voice is unmodified, but for personal privacy, I avoid displaying my actual likeness online.
What I provide
I will provide a Roll20 link to access the virtual tabletop, along with a Discord server link where our voice call will take place.
Gameplay details
While it's highly unlikely any of the following will be relevant to the session, the following lines and veils apply to any games that I GM. GM Lines There will be no sexual content, implied or explicit, involving minors. There will be no explicit violence against or involving babies or pregnant mothers. There will be no sexual assault against player characters or initiated by player characters. GM Veils Any sexual encounters will be strictly fade to black. While sexual content may exist and be present (for example, the party enters a brothel), there will be limited to no descriptions of sexual acts performed.

How will character creation work
Pre-made characters will be available so we can launch straight into the adventure. If you would like to create your own character, I can provide guidance and resources before the session for doing so. This adventure uses the Legacy 2014 Dungeons & Dragons ruleset, and 2014 content for its characters.
