Menace Under Magnimar | Learn to Play
This adventure will start in medias res as you and your party step into the basement of the Outcast Fishery in Beacon's Point, the slums of Magnimar.
About the adventure
Welcome to Magnimar, City of Monuments — a sprawling, bustling metropolis on the western coast of Varisia. Instead of starting your journey in sleepy Otari, you begin in Beacon’s Point, a chaotic district of docks, criminals, and forgotten people. The year is 4707 AR and talk of the town is of neighboring Sandpoint's new cathedral and their annual Swallowtail Festival. You’ve been asked by Vert Aigerd, Magnimar’s aged and respected harbormaster, to look into a suspicious break-in at the Outcast Fishery. He believes his predecessor, the disgraced and bitter Odie Phexen, might be behind it. This first mystery is just the ripple at the surface. As you investigate, you’ll uncover ancient conspiracies, alien horrors, and esoteric cults operating beneath the skin of Golarion itself. Think of Masks of Nyarlathotep meets Pathfinder 2e---if the stars beckon loud enough, maybe even Starfinder 2e.

Meet the Game Master
About me
“I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.” That quote used to be a joke. Then it became my truth. I’m a disabled veteran—real-life scars, real pain—but also a real opportunity. The arrow didn’t end my journey. It just changed the azimuth, bringing me face to face with my selfish nature. Character development-- when I found my passion for role play and story telling, I found more than a hobby. I found a battlefield of shared stories, laughter, and healing. I found a way to keep showing up—for myself and for others. Running professional games allow me to practice leadership, empathy, and creativity every single session. I got your back. Do the dice?

Legend offered a wonderful introduction to the Delta Green system! He doesn't just tell you what you see but encourages the players to build the scenes with him, describing to him and the table what we see, hear, and smell in the environments. You're offered plenty of room to breathe and develop camaraderie with the other PCs, with pressure wonderfully applied in moments of tension. Consequences are real and reasonable at this table, but at no point is creativity stifled. Failing rolls has never felt this good!
Legend was a fantastic handler in a game of Delta Green with me and my wife. His understanding of the game is top notch, and he never shot down any wild ideas we had (and believe me, there were many of those). Our characters couldn't succeed on a roll to save their lives, but the session was still a blast, which in my mind is the mark of a truly fantastic game master!
The session with Legend was absolutely amazing. He is very welcoming and helpful to new players. Together, you will make wonderful and gripping stories. Due to his excellent improvisation skills, it's a pleasure even to fail a check. :-) He incorporates interesting real places in his games - with a great and immersive description. It was a great game and a superb experience.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation is part of the adventure, not just prep work. In this game, we’ll build your Pathfinder 2e character together during Session Zero, step-by-step. This isn’t just about picking stats—it’s about understanding how the game works from the ground up: • Ancestry, Background, and Class: Explained in plain terms, with examples and guidance to match your playstyle. • Sheet Walkthrough: We’ll cover what each number means and how it connects to actual gameplay. • Choices That Matter: You’ll make decisions that shape not just your character, but their role in the party. • Setting Primer: As we build, you’ll also get introduced to the world your character inhabits, helping you feel grounded in the story before session one even starts. No experience? No problem. Assume the rest of the group is learning right alongside you. By the end of character creation, you won’t just have a hero—you’ll know how to play them.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
What You Don’t Need: • No prior Pathfinder experience. • No rulebooks or PDFs. We’ll provide everything you need. • No character sheet in advance. We build together in Session Zero. • No expensive dice, tools, or software. We’ll use free digital tools like Pathbuilder or [Foundry VTT if hosted].
What Thomas | INFJ-T brings to the table
With over a decade of experience in adult education—training both large groups and tight-knit teams—I don’t just teach rules. I facilitate learning. That means this game won’t feel like a lecture or a checklist. It’ll feel like a natural progression, like your character figuring things out in real time. Because that’s what we’re really doing here: learning by doing, failing forward, and turning “oops” into awesome. What Makes My Table Different: Adult Learning Principles: I know that grown-ups don’t learn from being told what to memorize—they learn from relevance, experience, and problem-solving. So I present encounters, choices, and mechanical challenges that make the system click through context, not textbooks. Scaffolded for Support: I meet players where they’re at. If you’re brand new, I’ll handle the crunch so you can focus on the fun. If you’re a returning player, I’ll challenge you with more agency and tactical depth. My job is to make you look cool while quietly pulling the strings in the background. Story First, Rules Close Second: I don’t teach mechanics in a vacuum. Every rule I bring in is in service to the story. The result? A table that feels cinematic and immersive, where even learning the rules becomes a narrative beat.
