About the adventure

In this game, you play people in a world very similar to modern Earth who have recently discovered that you are actually the children of ancient gods, and the World's first line of defense against the monstrous Titanspawn. This campaign was written by White Wolf with the assumption that the players will be playing the game line's signature characters. You can choose one of those characters to play or create characters of your own. If you've never played Scion before, come and learn! Necessary disclaimer: beyond the extremely basic premise that protagonists are half-mortal children of gods, Scion 1e and Scion 2e are _very_ different. Different themes, different moods, different goals, different mechanics, different expected attitudes from the PCs. Do not expect knowledge of 2e to translate. Characters are absolutely not expected to be perfect but should be heroic in the modern sense as well as the ancient sense. (Most of the Scion 1e signature characters are good examples here.)

About me

I've been playing and GMing a variety of games for over thirty years now. I love stories focused on characters and their development and the drama which ensues while they are growing through the story. I work to create a welcoming and safe environment for POC and LGBTQ+ players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Allowed sources include all sourcebooks for Scion 1E not otherwise stated. Banned sources include Scion: Yazata and Chapters Three, Five, and Six from the Scion Companion. (I only want to deal with seven pantheons and my opinion of the premise of Chapter Six of the Companion is unprintable; feel free to treat Louise “Lou” Macethan from page 32 of the Scion Companion as a playable signature character.) I would also prefer not to have an Azlanti PC. I also have a number of house rules which can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IUvbEqvJY1fjKcp_EdY9T_nbUxJbPGdvZaKOmRRQAFo/edit?usp=sharing. If you choose a signature character they'll need to be tweaked for said house rules. Character choice or creation will be gone over in Session Zero.

The current party

The Band currently includes Scions of Hathor of the Pesedjet, and Loki of the Aesir.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need Discord, a microphone, and a reliable connection. That's it. Everything else can be gone over in Session Zero; neither experience with the game system nor access to the books is necessary. (Nor, I hasten to add, is either a negative.)

What Beroli brings to the table

The game will be hosted on Discord, mostly or entirely using Theatre of the Mind. Session Zero will be free.

Safety

How Beroli creates a safe table

There will be a discussion of lines, veils, and triggers during Session Zero, with people being free to add more at any time (or to subtract some, if they decide something doesn't actually need to be a line or a veil). Several common triggers (pet death, for one example) I will simply avoid whether any players bring them up or not because I find them unpleasant to dwell on. Violence is part of the game as it is of most RPGs, but I don't plan on being graphic about it.
