Quest for the Frozen Flame | Recon Focused Hexploration
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
Survival is not a birthright—it’s a battle. Leadership is not given—it’s seized. In Journey for the Cold Fire, you are more than scouts—you are the last hope of the fading tribe, champions already fighting in the unforgiving tundra. Rival factions seek your ruin. Ancient powers stir beneath the ice. This isn’t just a journey of survival—it’s a war for existence itself. Think the unbreakable tribal bonds of Avatar fused with the relentless survival and ancient mysteries of Horizon Zero Dawn. The wilds offer no mercy. The question is—will you conquer them, or be consumed by them?
Game style
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare
This campaign is a shared journey—and like any great tale, you get out of it what you put in. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect presence, curiosity, and collaboration. To get started, please: • Join the ACTION in the ;IGY6 Gaming Discord: https://discord.gg/g6fPHed9 • Be ready for Session Zero, where we build this story together Your commitment is all I ask. The rest, we’ll write as a party.
What I provide
I bring 14 years of reconnaissance experience in the Army to the table, crafting realistic survival mechanics, tactical combat, and immersive world-building. If you enjoy strategic decision-making, resource management, and the thrill of adapting to an evolving environment, this campaign is for you. This isn’t a game where you can ignore the elements—time, monster parts, rations, encumbrance, and travel all matter. Every decision, from when to push forward to when to make camp, carries weight. Time isn’t just narrative fluff—delays mean shifting conditions, dwindling resources, and opportunities slipping away. Harvesting monster parts is more than loot—it’s about survival, crafting, and leveraging the wilderness to your advantage. Rations and encumbrance force hard choices—how much do you carry, and what do you risk leaving behind? Travel is more than rolling dice—it’s plotting the best route, managing fatigue, and understanding that every step deeper into the unknown takes you further from safety. This campaign is about strategy, foresight, and consequences. Your actions reach further into the abyss behind the screen than you could ever imagine—every ripple you create shapes the world in ways you may not see until it’s too late. Survive, adapt, overcome.

How will character creation work
In the far reaches of Golarion’s north, among snow-swept plains and sacred stone circles, the Broken Tusk following endures. You are no mere wanderer or outcast—you are a hopeful soul among the Mammoth Lords, called to prove yourself worthy of the path ahead. The Night of the Green Moon approaches—a rare celestial event and ancient rite of passage. When the sky glows with emerald fire, those who stand ready may be chosen. Those who are not… may be left behind. 🔷 Character Creation Is Reserved for Session Zero This will be a story of tribe and transformation—of forging bonds in the wild and facing trials together. To honor this, character creation will take place during Session Zero, where we will: • Create deep personal and tribal connections • Assign each character to one of the Broken Tusk’s four houses • Explore your dreams, fears, and ancestral ties • Align tone, safety, and thematic goals for the campaign Starting Character Creation • Level: 1 • Free Archetype: Yes • Ancestries, Backgrounds, & Classes: All Paizo content allowed; ask about Rare options • Battlezoo Content: Available on request Your Connection to the Story You are a member of the Broken Tusk following—or someone who seeks to become one. Each character must belong to, or be seeking to join, one of the following Houses: • House Falcon – Hunters, scouts, messengers, and keen-eyed survivalists. • House Musk Ox – Defenders, herders, smiths, and those with unshakable resolve. • House Moose – Lorekeepers, spiritual guides, and those attuned to the mysteries of the land. • House Otter – Gatherers, crafters, hearthkeepers, and those who foster joy and life in the tribe. Your background should reflect why the tribe has taken you in—or why you seek their acceptance. Perhaps you were born among them. Perhaps you were rescued, exiled, or guided by a vision. Whatever the case, the Night of the Green Moon is your chance to prove yourself… and be recognized as a true Broken Tusk. Your journey begins not with glory, but with kinship. Choose your House. Discover your role. Face the wilds together.
