All you really need is a discord account some imagination and enthusiasm to play a character in a very different world.
What GM Jesse brings to the table
I will post to set the scene with descriptions of locations, events, and enemies, supplemented with images and custom-made battle maps updated for most turns. Then let the players post their actions and repeat. That is the technical answer. The full answer is that I am providing a vivid and detailed science-fantasy setting with rich lore to play Homebrew Shadowdark in using a play-by-post format. Players will never know what to expect, as 75% of enemies are my own creations or reworked Shadowdark monsters with unique mechanics and lore. I also offer a hardcore experience, incorporating stress and wound mechanics, along with a detailed opt-in grievous wounds system for players who truly want to risk life and limb. As for the campaign—expect a long, brutal dungeon, and once you escape, a strange and terrible world awaits to be explored!
