About the adventure

The Kingdom of Aglarion has been a land of peace and great prosperity these past 10 years. The weather is temperate and mild, the fields and orchards produce an abundance of crops and there has been peace with the neighboring nations. The blessings that have been bestowed upon the kingdom were forged in a pact between King Waldrann of Aglarion and King Dasmag, the satyr ruler of the feyrealm of Swigglegard. But this is an adventure game, so expect things to fall apart. Dark forces are moving in the shadows to enact their foul plans, plans that only a brave band of heroes can solve. This game will feature RP, mysteries to solve, exploration, and action packed combat scenes in equal measure and the PCs actions will impact the future of both Aglarion and Swigglegard All of the PCs will have grown up together in the same village and the first two sessions will be character creation and village creation and the creation of shared background and a wondrous event they experienced as children. The campaign proper will feature the characters as adults and cover levels from 1 to 13, with the possibility of taking the campaign to level 20 if the players wish to continue.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done at session 0 to create a cohesive group. All of the PCs are going to be from the same town, having grown up together and possess a number of shared experiences. This will also give them some background into the setting and finding their place within it.

The current party

What to expect: choices that matter, many ways of achieveing success, solving mysteries, intrigue, exploring the country to uncover secrets and lore, travel to other planes, leading armies and determining the course of not only your homeland, but also the neighboring feywilde. Update: campaign goes from levels 1-15, possibly to 20 if the players wish to continue on.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a Roll20 account and Discord for voice chat. Before the first game, players can choose to discuss ideas on Discord with each other.

What David brings to the table

The game will be played on Roll20 and the players must have an account. Voice communication will be handled via Discord and the players must have a microphone. I have a wide variety to custom maps and tokens and utilize a number of API scripts to make the game smoother and more immersive. I use character voices and focus more on rule of cool than rules as written.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a healing potion is either a bonus or full action, and restores either rolled or max hp. Three spells are changed. Each time a character is reduced to 0hp they gain a level of exhaustion.

Safety

How David creates a safe table

Session 0 will include an open discussion on Lines and Veils and I will let the players choose any other safety tools that they may wish to employ. The safety tools that I have chosen are not the limit what we can use, but a starting point.
