Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

How to prepare
Microphone definitely. If the group as a whole wants to play with cameras on, I am totally good with that. But if even one person is uncomfortable with having their own or other people's cameras on, then it is a hard stop. Whatever site we decide to play on, make sure you have an account. I typically play on Roll20 or Foundry. If you have your own manuals, great! If not, I will provide them digitally.
What I provide
I will provide everything you need, manuals, handouts, surprise content! (Think train tickets or maps, etc.) This is Call of Cthulhu, if we get into combat, things are already going south! I prefer roleplay. No, that doesn't mean you have to do voices or anything you don't want or aren't comfortable with but please try and get into your character! I do utilize rules of cool to an extent but the rules are there for structure, continuity, and uniformity. I like using inspiration that the players can earn which they can use instead of pushing a role, any sort of reroll.
