About the adventure

You always wanted to be the Commander of your own Flotilla? Lead them into battle and forge your own story as a sailor of the Stars? In this campaign you can do that! Be it in a custom setting (Within the lancer universe) tailored to the wishes of my players or be it in the Dawnline Shore. This game is intended to give old and new players an opportunity to experience Lancer: Battlegroup's nerfwrecking voidbattles as well as the narritive part of it. You will start this campaign as a newly fledged battlegroup without any battlehonors yet and earn them as the campaign progresses. We will play on a fully prepared Roll20 table and Voicechat on a Private Discord Channel. Character/Battlegroup Creation will be done via a Google Docs sheet provided by the Seventh Fleet Server.

About me

Hello, hello! My name is John, most commonly known as Sacrehew, and I've been GMing now for roughly 6 years. I'm the type of GM that enjoys exploring new systems. I'd definitely say that I split my games equal parts between combat scenarios and role playing. I encourage my players to interact with one another, for the party to get to know each other and form genuine in character bonds to make the worlds feel that much more real and alive. I want the stakes to feel high, and the my players to feel like they should be working together -- not against each other -- toward a common goal. I'm an experienced story teller and I put 110% into the stories that I craft. As cheesy as it may sound, I put my all into weaving a narrative that I feel can shine a spotlight on each individual involved and help develop their story. Nothing makes me feel more satisfied than to see a player's personal character story resolved by the end of a one shot or a campaign. What to expect if you decide to go with me as a GM? Strong story beats, realistic and grounded story telling based in whatever universe we may happen to be exploring together, and a strong sense of party dynamics that encourages players to bring their heads together and embrace unconventional problem solving. I look forward to having you on my table, and I hope that we can enjoy ourselves exploring the diverse world of TTRPGs.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Copy of Lancer: Battlegroup!

What John Sacrehew brings to the table

Lancer: Battlegroups as a game has simple set of or straight up no rules for narritive and becomes more complex once Tactical Combat ensues. I as the GM will strife to adapt the amount narrative play and tactical combat in colaboration with my players, so that that it feels like your ships and fleets are housing actual people without lousing the scale of a battlegroups campaign In narritive play I will portray characters with voices, but I do not expect the same from players. You roleplay the way you feel most comfortable. For Tactical combat we will be sticking by the rules as close as is sensible, exceptions will be discussed and ruled when they occur. On the technical side, I prepared a fully set up Roll20 table with Macros to speed and smooth up tactical combat gameplay, aswell as a Discord server where all important resources will be listed and prepared. Here you also can discuss your next move with the other players and take notes in the channels. I will utilize background music.
