About the adventure
Welcome to the Forgotten Realms, a place of magic and fantasy with unlimited potential. This story begins in the city of Baldur’s Gate. After the rise of a new lord of the city, Lord Chatham, strange and dangerous creatures have been flocking to the city for reasons unknown. Could it be because of the instability of power changing hands or a long-forgotten prophecy of ruin to be brought on the city? That is for our adventurers to figure out. Welcome to this homebrew campaign in a familiar and established world. I hope to inspire a party to explore and investigate as they see fit the mystery of Baldur’s Gate. This will be a campaign starting at level 5 moving to hopefully level 20. I am eager to discover how my players will explore and change Bladur’s Gate and Faerun forever.

I’ve been a DND fan for a while. I enjoy playing and want to get back into DMing. We will go through a learning process, and hopefully, we will have fun along the way.

Creating your character
For creating your character: - Level 5 start for any official DND classes and subclasses (if you have homebrew subclasses, items, etc., message me first with them and a description to be approved) - Stats will be either standard array, point buy, or rolled. Rolled stats will be done in the roll stats channel. - We will be using 2024 rules, but it shouldn't be a problem if you want to use 2014 rules, classes, subclasses, etc. However, some things might not be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Most, if not all, third-party content must be approved beforehand, as it is often not balanced or incorporates different mechanics. - Starting equipment: You gain the starting equipment from class and background. You can choose two uncommon magic items and one common item and start with 500 gold. - Optional: This is based in Faerun but is mainly open to the world and homebrewed aspects of the setting. I will try to incorporate any character backstory you come up with and want to share into the plot and session zero.

Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account and a DND Beyond account. None of the apps need to be paid for. You must have a working mic and a good understanding of the game. Either rules variation should be acceptable. You can create a character ahead of time or during session zero; it is up to you. Please ask any questions via DM or Discord DM.
What DM Blake brings to the table
I will provide a DND Beyond master subscription, which will allow me to share any content I have on the app with you. As part of that, I provide DND Beyond Maps for encounters and explorations, amongst many other things for gameplay. You will only need a free account to join.

How DM Blake creates a safe table
- Players of this campaign can expect the opportunity to mold the world of Faerun in an adventure to discover the mysteries around Baldur’s Gate and the new lord. - I need every player to complete and turn in the RPG Consent Form before we start session one. I want everyone to have fun; this is an easy way to ensure it. We will have a mandatory 10 to 15-minute break in the middle of the session for snacks, bathroom breaks, stretching your legs, etc.
