Secrets of the Silvyr Tower
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
Three days you have spent traveling in search of an ancient tower most don't even believe exists any more. Rations are low, morale is dwindling and at this point it feels as though you're just wandering round in circles. The book keeper you've been escorting promises he can figure out the problem. The other mercenaries, however, are looking for someone to blame. As tensions rise, you find yourself faced with a dilemma. Will you fulfill your oath in the hunt for a power to dominate dragons, or will you give into frustration and find your own way? This one-shot will run for one session and last about 3 hours. Having run it multiple times, it's yet to spill into a second session. Character creation: Level 3 characters can be brought, created or provided as needed. Stats will be rolled just prior to the beginning of session on Foundry. Pretty much all official options are fine. 2014 rules for character creation.

How to prepare
All players need at my table as a minimum is a created character to import, a discord account and a microphone. Beyond that, everything is handled on my end and hanging out on camera while we play is completely optional!
What I provide
My table plays using Discord and Foundry VTT. Outside of initially making a character sheet (either on DDB or directly in Foundry) nothing is required of the players unless they'd like to personally design their character. I create custom character designs via Heroforge that get imported as tokens and also import ambient music and SFX to make the experience as immersive as possible. I try my best to employ a variety of character voices and when it comes to rules I work with a mix of rules as written and rule of cool. Whatever tells the best story is what's important in my eyes, but I won't be a pushover once a decision's been made. Expect a good mix of roleplay, combat, exploration and puzzle solving. Immersion and the table having fun is the most important thing for me. As long as nobody's upset and we're all having a good time, things will go great!
Gameplay details
During our session zero I will be making notes of everyone's hard and soft limits as well as their interests in exploration, roleplay, combat and puzzles so that I can tweak the adventure as needed. In that time I'll also go over a little lore to help people come up with character ideas and go through things like house rules so that everyone's on the same page and knows exactly what to expect from myself and from each other.

How will character creation work
For character creation I allow characters to be made individually or I'm happy to help out with the process depending on the needs of each person. Because I import everything, pretty much all options from all books are available though I currently use very little content from the recent 2024 PHB. Ideally the process is to create a character mostly on D&D Beyond, import that into Foundry VTT and then anything I or the player doesn't have access to on DDB will be imported to Foundry too and added to the character sheet to finish it. Essentially, if it's official, published material, I'll probably allow it unless what's being asked is a little over the top.
