About the adventure

🏜️ After enduring for millennia, the time of the Imperium is ending. The Emperor is about to overplay his hand, pitting House Atreides and House Harkonnen against each other, using an old feud to dispose of his rivals. But he has critically miscalculated, and though House Atreides will fall, its young scion Paul Atreides will survive and rise to take the throne. From there, the fire and flame of a terrifying new religious crusade will surge across the galaxy, like the Butlerian Jihad of old, changing everything. In this four-month campaign, your House can take part in these momentous events as the timeline of the eras shifts from The Imperium to The Ascension of Muad’Dib. Your player characters must pick sides and make careful alliances to survive the oncoming storm. Even if your group is already familiar with the chain of events, survival will not be as simple as picking the winning side. In this time of chaos, the enemies you cannot see are the most dangerous. 🏜️ Inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune, this campaign is a dangerous journey through a world of intergalactic intrigue and the fate of all at stake. 🏜️ Fall of the Imperium uses the Dune: RPG system by Mophidius to traverse the wide world of Frank Herbert’s Dune, as well as its film adaptations (Dune [1987], Dune Part One, Dune Part Two). Play through the events of the original Dune trilogy as the Imperium spirals toward the rise of Voice From the Other World Muad’Dib and determine the fate of the entire galaxy, whether by the spider-like movements of the Bene Gesserit from the shadows or the guerilla warfare of the Fremen. This campaign will play out in four acts over the course of 4 months: Act I: The Gathering Storm Act II: Muad’Dib Act III: Fall of the Imperium Act IV: War Across a Million Worlds The campaign will feature an ‘R’ rating and require a completed safety session with the Wild Reverend Mother (Game Mistress) and a completed Lines/Veils document in order to engage in subsequent play. 📼Looking to start streaming your tabletop play, but nervous about jumping into it/unsure of where to start? For a little extra game has a toggleable opt-in to have your game sessions recorded on video, why not get some practice in while you play in the sandbox of Arrakis?

About me

Hi! I’m Abadonne Darlington D’Artagnan Kilbride, IV and I would absolutely love to run a game for you. I’m a creature of myth, Gorgon of old, TTRPG streamer, writer, creator, and Founder at Exquisite Corpse Presents: A Home For Unusual Stories . In the effort to become the confessional poet of tabletop role playing I write, produce, and run Say a Prayer for California: Sister Cities, a post-apocalyptic dystopian DnD 5e homebrew, and La Naissance D'Une Reine, a Thirsty Sword Lesbians homebrew set in the years following the death of King Arthur. I’m a founding cast member of Blackness and Dragons and has appeared on Going Critical RPG as Loset Lee, Lore Everlasting as Petra Pellucid and Siddalee Ware, and on the fully-crowdfunded A Tale of Two Lions hosted by @AnoriandGD. My written work can be found in BeNeverending’s anthology, Anansi’s Tapestry of Lives, and my confessional chapbook Styx River Anthology is available on Bandcamp.

My game with Abadonne is the first campaign I've ever been part of and I could not be happier with the experience. They have a great "Yes and..." quality that helped me find my footing as a player and over come my hesitation. If you're a new player who's hesitating to jump in, I can't recommend joining one of Abadonne's games enough.

Abadonne ran a great session of 10 Candles was honestly a fun, engaging session and I highly recommend them for any tabletop games!

DK hosted a game of 10 Candles mixed with Good Society set in the Salem Witch Trials and it was one of the most amazing games that I have experienced through SPG. The world and history were richly established, the characters were complex and interesting, the presentation was fantastic. I am looking forward to playing more games with them in the future!

Abadonne's story telling is so rich, so tailored to whatever their adventures are wanting to engage with. The worlds are so fully fleshed out it kind of makes my head spin to think about. I'm so happy to have found her here.

I've seen some of Abadonne's work, and it's been nothing short of spectacular. They have a wonderful imagination and pay a great deal of attention to detail. They're an excellent storyteller with a great sense of timing. I highly recommend checking out their games!

Character creation
Creating your character

Due to the nature of character creation in the Adventures in the Imperium system, character creation will take place collectively during our session zero. Don’t you worry about sourcebooks, I’ve got you covered and I’ll be providing a PDF of Adventures in the Imperium as well as a detailed step-by-step guide to character creation for anyone who needs it! Players will begin at level one with ample opportunities for advancement over the course of the campaign.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

In order to join this game, players will need: -Roll20 account -Discord account -Microphone -Headphones -Webcam (mandatory for this game) We’ll be going over the rules throughout session zero/the campaign and I encourage questions at any time, but if you’re unfamiliar with 2d20 systems I would recommend skimming the rules! If you’re new to the Dune-iverse, please also take some time to familiarize yourself with the world of Dun — have yourself a double feature of the films, maybe! This game is dense with rich lore that we’ll be exploring during our time together, so an understanding of how all the major pieces interplay can only improve your experience!

What Abadonne brings to the table

Players can expect a sweeping space opera predominantly utilizing Theater of the Mind and a dice pool system to facilitate ease of play, though combat will take place in the Roll20 VTT throughout the campaign! Let me sweep you away into a story of which you’ve maybe always wanted to be part and we’ll see what we can make of this universe together, hm?
