About the adventure

It’s January 1967, and San Francisco is buzzing with change, caught between the hopeful call of “free love” and a rising tide of paranoia. The Human "Be-In" is just around the corner, set to draw thousands of flower children to Golden Gate Park in a celebration of peace and unity. Beneath this newfound freedom, a darker tension brews. Fear of the unknown, clashes with authority, and whispers of war haunt the city’s corners as the Vietnam draft looms large and civil rights protests shake the nation. The Kindred of San Francisco find themselves swept into this cultural rip tide, battling for control over a city on the brink. Camarilla elders tighten their grip, wary of change and the chaos the Anarchs are so quick to embrace. But the younger Kindred feel the call of rebellion and see an opportunity in the upheaval, a chance to dismantle the power structures holding them back. With the Summer of Love still a distant promise, San Francisco is already a battleground of ideals, fear, and forbidden power. In this city, every choice echoes down foggy streets and through packed gatherings, shaping the future of the City by the Bay. Step into the heart of 1967, where love and fear collide, decide where your loyalty lies—because peace and paranoia are two sides of the same coin, and both are poised to change everything.

About me

"Grab a hot drink, a seat around the fire, and listen to my cowboy song." "Comfortable? Good! Now, before we get started, I want you all to know that I tell my tales for your enjoyment and pleasure... so please respect each other and don't enter this area if you desire to cause another harm. If someone's pain is your objective or entertains you... You won't make it past the opening credits of our story." [About me: Having been in (often teaching) the Arts for over 25 years, I really enjoy teaching, and I understand how and love to foster creativity in players!] --Experienced GM/DM/ST for roughly 35 years. I have professionally run hundreds of games over multiple systems. In that time, I have learned that it is the players' story and I am just here to facilitate that experience and make it run smoothly and be as entertaining as possible. I see game rules as a way to keep on track and involved...I never let them get in the way of creativity or the group's enjoyment! I came to StartPlaying looking to run some serious and/or seriously fun sessions. My story telling style is light and flows easy. I do not let the mechanics detract from the experience, but use them to enhance the story you want to be told! Teaching new systems to new players is an experience I enjoy. We were all new players, or new to a system at one time...and without kind and proper guidance we probably wouldn't still be involved in this amazing pastime! Roll well and see ya around!

How DuChampion (JJ) creates a safe table

This will be an open door game, if you need to take a break, for any reason, please do so!! All I ask, is if you can, please mute your mic so we know you are out. -Any use of "out of character" Racism, Sexism, or Discrimination or Personal Attacks of any kind will get you banned. -Players who do these things repeatedly "in character" are discouraged/warned/and subject to being (quickly) kicked or banned. -If you do not follow the “Fade to Black” rule you will be kicked or banned. **Fade to Black Rule** During the game, if there is ever an event, situation, or anything that as a player makes you feel Please say “Fade to Black” (same as N card although sometimes I don't see the chat right away)and that scene will end. I will not ask, I will not judge, I will take control and respect this choice. No story is worth paining someone!
