About the adventure

A short 2-3 session foray in the Haunted Isles of Trinia, a nation within the World of Orveon campaign setting. Beneath the misty skies of the Keening Isle, the Mistmarch winds its way along the rugged coast. Here, in the shadow of jagged fog shadowed cliffs, danger is never far away—whether from bandits that haunt the trade routes, or the the ancient curses, and other horrors rumored to stalk these lands. The players take on the role of a small band of mercenaries, hired to escort a nobleman from the coastal city of Moll Port. It should be simple work—watch the road, keep blades close, and ensure their charge arrives unharmed. But there is a weight of unease that lingers in the damp air, and as your small band ventures along the mist shrouded coastline, it becomes clear that this job may more than a simple escort mission.

About me

My first game ever was as a GM for a solo player, and I've been running games ever since (the mid-1980s). To me, TTRPG's are an art form, and one unlike any other. I put time and effort into my games. I love fantasy, sci-fi, horror films and TV, Star Wars, Peter Jackson's Lord of The Rings, Alien/Aliens, The Ninth Gate, and The Thing are my favorite films. Although my preference is for gritty, serious toned fantasy, I'm not above a classic D&D dungeon romp from time to time.

Character creation

Creating your character

We can discuss character creation on Discord once you have received an invite to my channel. Some basic setting notes have been provided there, as well as a link to my campaign website for further world lore and details such as world appropriate character archtypes. As well, a handful of pregens are available (and tweakable) if you just want to try things out without jumping into full character creation.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You need a mic for Discord, as well as a PC capable of handling Foundry VTT's basic requirements. A decent video card may be a requirement, as I use some of Foundry's more graphically intensive features such as weather and lighting FX. A Foundry link will be set up for each player in advance and provided in Discord at game time.

What Jeff brings to the table

I will host the game on Foundry VTT for combat encounters, maps, & handouts, complete with a moody ambient soundtrack and Discord for voice chat.

How Jeff creates a safe table

Players can expect violence and dark themes. I lot of my game is improvised, or can swing that direction so I will use a content checklist and avoid sensitive topics on an individual basis. We will also discuss this in a session zero, and accommodate any "hard no" topics.
