City of Shards: Voices of Imiriel (Beginner & LGBTQ+ friendly!)

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Are you looking for a D&D game that will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wishing for the next session? Then this is the campaign for you! Set in the shared custom-designed (homebrew) world of Kalumnoir, in this campaign you'll take on the role of the Voices of Imiriel: a group of adventurers in the service of the High Magus of the great city, seeking to close planar portals that appeared in the wake of the cataclysmic Shardstorm. High adventure, intrigue, and plenty of arena battles are the defining characteristics of this campaign. This is a semi-sandbox style custom campaign, designed around the player characters and their motivations, goals, and aspirations. PLEASE NOTE: DM Bob Yo is committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion. If you support transphobia, homophobia, racism, misogyny, ableism, or any other form of bigotry or fascism, you probably won’t be comfortable at my table. You’ll need to look for another game.

How to prepare

Prior to play, you'll want to have both Fantasy Grounds Unity (the Free DEMO version is fine) and Discord installed on your devices. If you've not used these services before, don't worry! Newbies are more than welcome, and I try to make myself available to anyone ahead of time who needs technical assistance.

What I provide

I bring the story and all of the maps/mechanical necessities. I also provide access to a shared DnDBeyond campaign containing all of the character creation options.

Gameplay details

GAMEPLAY: Over the course of the campaign, players will experience a rough balance between combat, exploration, and roleplaying, though specific sessions may focus largely (or sometimes entirely) on one aspect of the game. SAFETY TOOLS: Lines and veils are used to set boundaries on content in a game. Lines are hard limits on content, things that the GM or the players don’t want to engage in. Setting up a line means that content won’t show up in the game at all. Veils are soft limits, things that are ok “behind a curtain” or when they “cut-to-black.” Setting up a veil means that the content might be in the game but not spotlighted or described in great detail. Lines and veils can be adjusted as needed throughout the game. I will discuss lines and veils with players prior to our first session together.

How will character creation work

Character creation should be done either in DnDBeyond or Fantasy Grounds. Players will be given a link to join my DnDBeyond campaign, which will give them access to all of the published Dungeons & Dragons character options.
