Secunda Iter
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Once the gods roamed the material plane- or so most stories begin. Everyone seems to have a story like that. The Gods walked with us, then something came, the gods made Bahamut and Tiamat, who made Sardior- those elements seem to be included by everyone. But then... something happened. No civilization can seem to agree on what happened, if they even have the foggiest idea to begin with. Whatever it was.... The world broke. No one's really sure how long it lasted, and the storms and disasters that devastated everyone were far too great for anyone to be concerned about anything other then what happened to them. Some civilizations were remade, alliances tore, and others.... others were shattered. Far more notably however, half the world is gone behind a barrier of necrotic death. Our side survived, barely, but there's no way the other half could have survived such rot. Now we simply must try to find a way to exist in this flooded world of ours, nations reduced to islands. The sea makes our borders, and its denizens are more dangerous than ever. Will we survive, rebuild, thrive again? Or have we lost even that capability.
Game style
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
This is a custom made world that we will be expanding upon our half off session 0. You'll each be getting to add your own location to it! I also plan to help yall make super detailed characters, along with some extra feats as a reward via a custom Heroic Chronicle. Together we'll explore this decimated world, discovering it's forgotten mysteries and histories while trying out best to navigate the societies that survived.

Gameplay details
Each session will end with 3 questions: what did you like, what did you dislike, and what do you want to see more of. I will be using these to shift the campaign in a direction the party enjoys. Be it wanting more complex combat/social encounters, to continuing dungeon patterns the players enjoy, I will fine tune the campaign as we play. X, N, and O's will be used in Discord as needed, although the provided Consent Check List should help avoid such topics it is always better to be safe than sorry. I also have experience in interactive theater, and thus can help with handling situations such as bleed.

How will character creation work
We will be handling character creation at Session 0 and then handle a bit more specifics in Session 1. You will be starting at Level 1, and may use any officially printed material other than the Rick and Morty or Acquisitions Incorporated based products We are using Standard Array for stats, and you may use Tasha's optional or variant features We will be running through the Heroic Chronicle with the following edits: You may roll or choose, your choice Everyone will have one Heroic Moment, which I will provide my own customized list for the sake of balance Everyone gets one rival and one ally regardless of background Mysteries are optional Prophecies are to be ignored I am providing my own list of Heroic Moments for balance sake via Google Document. Any homebrew must be run by me Once you are done, be sure you have any detail you wish to be codified in your backstory written. Once we start, I will gain control over all factors of your history: if you want a family member to stay dead, say as such in the backstory. If you want to make sure you are a single child- or even an orphan, state so. I would prefer characters be stored on Roll 20 for ease of access and implementation of homebrew or unorthodox DnD features such as Boons.
