A Marvel Multiverse Tale Practice | Learn and Stay or just Play!

Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game | Campaign

About the adventure

This is the first time I have run these rulesets, and I am offering it for free so that we can all practice, together as Narrator and Players both. If we end up continuing to a campaign, that will NOT be free, but I will have a few free sessions before we do that, for sure! I have a basic idea of a Cerebro-esque simulation machine to start. I want to be able to create some practice scenarios in an undefined space while we practice to play, and can't wait to reveal what's on the other side of the door! For now, learn and stay, or just come in and play as a vet, maybe we can learn from you!

Game style

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Recruiting notes

- SEARCHING FOR A DATE ON OR AFTER THURSDAY APRIL 3RD - To make sure it is mentioned everywhere, this is free because it is a learning session for myself as much as players, and I am pretty flexible. My hope as we continue: - At least four sessions of practice that are not charged. This is for all of us to practice and see if we enjoy being on a team, together! - After a month or so of free sessions, have enough folks to run 1 weekly sessions of this at a price of $10 for the first couple months (5-10 sessions). - After sufficient practice, sessions will increase to $15. I am certain that my 10 years of Dungeons and Dragons Experience will transfer over quickly, but I don't want to "over"charge while the rules are practiced. This is definitely not an expectation, just showing my thought process!

Very eager to help you learn, and very helpful to figure out classes/backgrounds/backstories that make sense together!

The level of care, compassion, thought and effort that is put into the experience both in and out of game is outstanding! You get so much more than just a game session with Nicholas, I highly recommend.

The DM builds an expansive world and a whole lot of room to build on in it. It's fun with tangents that can range from silly to serious. He knows enough that I recommend him for new players that need help, and to keep pace with those already familiar with the game.

The story for the game. It's captivating, wild at times and can be spooky when it calls for it. The joking around with other players + DM. When it's time to joke of course.

How to prepare

I will update this section with tools and (legal) resources once approved. Players will need to have read through the powers sections of the rules at least. Most of the rest of the rules are fairly easy to learn, but just like picking spells in DnD, I can see this being the biggest thing blocking people from playing longer when we all sit down to play as it is a classless game, meaning that there are no rules about how to choose what you can do as long as you have the previous things in the tree. We will be going over rules in more depth, and creating characters.

What I provide

Until I learn more or get more practice, the only real tool we will be using is Discord - but I am looking at a few digital tools or ways for players to track character details over remote playing, but I can invest too much right now/until I know I can run some games for this. In my DnD games, I use many tools, and flex them depending on the session and it's needs, but we always use a VTT, voice chat in Discord, and a digital tool to track content (like DnD Beyond). I also use music, images, and am a writer professionally so I am able to create immersive descriptions and improv with what we all bring to the table in regards to pacing. Let's see if those skills and tools transfer to Marvel!

Gameplay details

Violence because there needs to be conflict for the heroes to stop, but we discuss specifics as we go through lines and veils as needed.

How will character creation work

I have made a few characters on my own for practice and a few with friends, but I will admit that I am not familiar with every part of the process, this is part of why the game will be free - it will be my first time running a game with this ruleset and we will all be learning a bit, together!
