Protect the Shipment!

Protect the Shipment!

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot

About the adventure

The Devil’s Lake Settlement cares about its workers! They provide free daycare for workers with children. They encourage their employees to pursue their interests and even help provide startup money to begin side businesses. But they can’t do their important work without your support. Bandits have hijacked the main supplier of raw materials. Without these materials, the business can’t operate, and its vital mission to supply the region will be doomed to failure. Are you going to let this happen? This is the exciting sequel to the one-shot entitled Save the Settlement! If you missed it, don’t worry! We can easily catch you up, and you can even play it at a later time. This quest is for 2nd level players of all skill levels. If you’re new to D&D, no sweat! If you sign up 24 (or more) hours in advance, we can schedule a time for me to help you create a character and run through the basics of what you’ll need to play. What are you waiting for? If you do nothing, the bad guys win!

Game style

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare

Players will need: A Discord account with a good microphone (the free account is fine) A D&D Beyond account (free is also good) If you're comfortable creating a character, do so using the character creation guidelines. If not, contact me, and I'll walk you through the process. A good night's rest (nobody wants crabby party members)

What I provide

I've got several online manuals on D&D Beyond that will help in character creation that you may use. I'm definitely not a voice expert, but I try my best. I've been playing for a while, so I know most of the rules, but I am not above somebody reminding me if I missed something. At the end of the day, though, I am still the DM. I also embrace the Rule of Cool if a player comes up with something especially epic! My biggest rule is that nobody makes their fun supersede everyone else's. Everyone should get a chance to be the hero!

How will character creation work

This game is for 2nd level characters. You can use any races or classes with the exception of core 2014. As I said above, I've got a lot of manuals that you can use once you've joined the campaign on D&D Beyond. Use point buy for attributes, encumbrance, and XP for leveling.
