Odyssey through Rond and Ream | Ancient Greek Inspired Campaign
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Adventure through the mythical lands of Rond and Ream. Make deals with squabbling gods. confront mythic beasts, and brave the vast world of antiquity. Engaging social encounters, challenging mysteries and fierce combat are on the table, where players old and new will all have the opportunity to shine. However, how this story plays out is up to you. With a large focus on your individual character arcs and growth, players' interactions and decisions will be at the forefront of this epic journey. So whatever type of player you are, I'd love to have you join me on this mythical adventure.
Game style
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare
I run my campaigns in Roll20 and use discord to communicate so having both a discord and Roll20 account are the main requirements as well as having a functional microphone. The only other major requirement is just be respectful, we are all here to have fun 😀.
What I provide
I have been DMing for 7 years and have had several multi year long campaigns with my most recently finished campaign lasting nearly 3 years going all the way from level 1 to level 20. I run my games on Roll20 so there will be interactable maps for most encounters. As well as other digital assets and aids to add to the game experience. I am proficient at a lot of different things which help quite a bit with DMing. I do my best with character voices and custom combat maps. I have several playlists of ambient music which I have been fine tuning over the years to set the perfect atmosphere. I also make heavy use of homebrewed items, abilities and monsters to keep the challenges and rewards tailored to the party. Player agency and impact is a core part of my DMing style. I have the one homebrewed world which all my campaigns all take place in and in which all my players' characters have had permanent impacts on. If you enjoy impactful character driven storytelling with a slightly more gamified and tailored experience then this is the game for you.
Gameplay details
We are all adults here to have fun playing D&D, as such the last thing I want is to make someone genuinely upset and leave with a bad experience. D&D is a place to have fun and feel better about your week, not worse. The exact lines of the campaign will vary from group to group and will be established in session 0 but you can expect not to find anything worse than what you would encounter in Baldur's gate. The most important part of session 0 to me is to make sure we all vibe and want to take part in the same kind of story. Player agency is also extremely important to me and making sure you always feel like you have control and agency on what is happening is something I emphasise. I will always hang around for a while after a session to debrief and check in with everyone, if nothing else to discuss how they are feeling about the campaign and what they are excited for. And if for whatever reason you are uncomfortable with something whether it is proactively or reactively I am happy to step aside and help accommodate.

How will character creation work
The first session will be free and will act as a session 0 and character creation where we can discuss everyone's expectations for the campaign as well as character goals and campaign style. I will help run you through character creation and work on integrating them into my world and the campaign. You can either use standard array or roll for stats. All characters will start at second level as it gives a bit more to work with than first level characters. I run my games on Roll20 so characters will be created and managed in roll 20. This should keep things simple, greatly helping any newer players.
