Princes of the Apocalypse Levels 10-17 Play by Post PbP

I had a poor experience with Sevan and unfortunately I can't recommend him. I signed up for one of his campaigns and was excited to see a familiar face among the players. We were discussing character ideas and I brought up a rules question proactively to make sure it wouldn't create an issue down the line. Sevan made a ruling, which I accepted, but I asked if he was open to coming up with an alternative feature to help me achieve my character concept. Rather than engage in any further discussion, I was kicked from the campaign without warning or an explanation of what the issue was. Would have appreciated the chance to discuss considering I had spent time on creating a character that I thought would have been a good fit.

Playing D&D virtually, let alone over text, is incredibly tough. But, having participated in two of Sevan's campaigns, he makes it look easy. His constant check-ins allow the parties the latitude to think things through before making decisions, setting up a reliable schedule. He took information and goals that I wanted to accomplish with my characters and have turned them into fantastic story beats, ones that feel both in line with my characters while also providing plenty of surprise and imagination. His communication is clear and effective, from what does and doesn't fly in terms of actions to when he'll be most available. If you're a player who doesn't have the time to play 3-4 hour sessions every week, keep it 100 on Sevan!

Sevan is the only PBP GM I've stuck with on StartPlaying. His games are immersive and allow for a ton of room to tell your own stories. He is a great storyteller and guide on your way through whatever adventure you choose. And he's very open to feedback or ideas in the process! Highly recommend.

Sevan should change his name to Ten cause his DM skills are a 10 out of 10! His writing skills really make the experience even better. Highly recommend as your next GM.

Sevan is very "Yes and..."! It's made for some amazing collaborative story-telling. He's very good at keeping the story going without forcing players onto rails.

Sevan is really great at crafting a story that engages the players and rewards their investment. He is very collaborative and responsive to what players want to get out of playing D&D and has proven adept at balancing multiple players with different playstyles and making sure that each of them gets a time to shine and has their version of fun. Encounters are memorable, antagonists are well developed, and the pace is very manageable for players with full time jobs and other demands in their time.
