Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome to a world of endless adventure. I, your Dungeon Master, invite you to journey to lands of gods and monsters, rebels and powerful factions, intrigue and mystery. Who will you choose to be? Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to the game, I will work with you to create a personalized and unforgettable gaming experience. As an experienced and passionate adventure designer, I will keep you on the edge of your seat. My proficiency with the D&D 5e ruleset allows me to adapt the system to immersive worlds with unique encounters and creative challenges. With my flexibility and improvisation skills, player choice will ripple throughout the narrative and help me create an adventure highly tailored to your individual preferences and playstyle. Join me now, and we will embark on a journey of discovery, danger, and glory! What to Expect: -Combat: Encounters where the main objective isnāt always just ādefeat the enemy.ā -Character Voices: Memorable NPC characterizations, just like video games! -Player Character Advocacy: I love all my PCs equally. I'm not a āgotchaā DM. (Note, that doesn't mean that you have plot armor, but if your character dies I strive to make it fair and narratively satisfying.) -Equal Spotlight. TTRPGs are an ensemble! The PCs are all equally important to the story. Some sessions may focus a little more on an individual, but you will all get time to shine. -Rule of Cool: The rules exist to serve the story. If they disrupt the narrative we are building, I'll adapt them to serve the story we are telling. -Collaboration: While the DM may do the heavy lifting to present a robust world to play in, we are collectively telling a story and I will respect your character and their agency. -Safe Space: It is of utmost importance to me that we all feel safe when we play. You should feel comfortable coming to me with problems. I promise an open mind and mediation when necessary. GM Stat Block: Proficiency in Performance: I have a degree in acting and am a trained improviser. Tool Proficiency - Gaming Sets: I come packed with decades of video and board game experience to draw inspiration from. Arcane Tradition - Illusion: I spend full work weeks writing adventures, working on characters, studying rules and lore, and tailoring encounters to dazzle the senses. I would love to do that for you!

Creating your character
Character creation begins as soon as an idea pops into your head! I encourage you to DM me about them as soon as you sign up. You will build your character in D&D Beyond prior to our Session 0. Pre-generated characters are available. In session 0, we will begin to cement your narrative ideas, so that if you wish to build connections with your fellow PCs you still have flexibility. You will start at level 1. For this campaign, I'm implementing the 2024 ruleset and require characters created from strictly from published* 2024 content (no legacy content). For your starting gear, follow options presented by the PHB (2024). You may use any of the Player's Handbook '24 methods for stat generation: Point Buy, Standard Array, or Rolled Stats. However, if you choose to roll stats, they must be logged to ensure fairness for all players. Please refer to the character creation channel for your game (a link will be provided upon signup) for detailed instructions on logging stat rolls. These steps are to ensure and provide confidence in a fair game for all. Feel free to DM me with further questions. Published content* means no Unearthed Arcana.
This game uses D&D's 2024 core rules. All character options from the 2024 PHB are valid. The party is currently level 2 and is composed of: An Elf Wizard A Halfling Fighter A Goliath Sorcerer A Half-Elf Cleric

What Benjamin brings to the table
Directly inspired by the man, the myth, the legend, Brennan Lee Mulligan; I have spent the last 3 years deep-diving into the methods of your favorite celebrity DMs to hone my craft and deliver an experience akin to Dimension 20, or Critical Role! As your DM, I am your character's biggest fan! I want to help you experience the fantasy of your choice. In D&D, I believe that's largely tied to the class you want to play. As you develop your character I'll make offers to integrate you into the campaign and develop something that's right for you and fits the story we are telling. I allow the rules to dictate the game insofar as the constraints of those rules help to tell the story. In other words, rules may be bent, broken, or all together ignored in service of the story. However, in this game we gamble with story! Neither you nor I know what's going to happen in the story we are about to tell. When you roll a die, that roll is sacred. We use unbiased RNG in dramatic moments to decide the fates of characters in the story and we abide by the roll. The gamble must be fair, or the story loses its magic. As a trained actor and improvisor, I use a mixture of first person and third person story telling. I utilize a variety of voices and accents but you are not expected to. I wield a variety of first-party, third-party, and home-brewed 5E content like MCDM's Flee Mortals. I come with a Master Tier subscription to DnDBeyond with player access to: Player's Handbook 2024 I strive to run a diverse and inclusive table, which means I wholly welcome BIPOC and LGBTQ+ players in my games.
