About me

My name's Jack - I'm a GM with on-and-off ten years of experience playing and running games. Recently got back into the hobby, invigorated by Pathfinder 2E and looking to share the system around a little bit! I'm looking to run primarily Adventure Paths, which'll get heavily customized and shuffled up depending on player choice and the vibe of the group. I like a relaxed vibe but a tight pace! We're all here to have fun, but the money you pay is a big investment and I want to make sure every game is worth it. I'll focus on letting you flex your mechanical awareness while I steer you towards cool, impressive moments and make sure there's space enough for everyone to get their moments. No seven or eight player games just so I get paid more, here - I value quality, not quantity! If one of my listed games interests you but the time doesn't work, please get in touch! I'm very flexible and can easily shuffle around and see if we can find something that works for everyone. I'm happy to run for pre-established full groups or solo/smaller groups who are looking to meet with some new players.

Character creation

Creating your character

During session 0 we'll discuss the module and character choices. Every character will start Level 3 and follow the standard Pathfinder ABCs. I'll give some pointers to ensure players don't pick choices which will have 0 cohesion in the adventure (which Lore skill will be useful? Are any damage types beneficial? Is this feat ever going to come up?) Try not to come with a totally pre-planned character! Ideas are fine, but building the party together creates some great cohesion. We'll also have a segment (through voice or text) where I ask details for your characters' history & aesthetic. Who are they, why are they here, and how do their abilities manifest?

What to expect

Preparing for the session

*Need*: - A free Foundry VTT and Forge-VTT account. - A microphone with decent audio quality and internet connection. - A commitment to the chosen timeslot. *Want* - A solid understanding of basic, important rules (3 action turns, multiple attack penalty, etc)

What Jack brings to the table

- High Quality official modules for mapping, character art, and sound! - Functional, simple, clean Foundry UI. No messing with modules for 15+ minutes! - NPCs with engaging personalities & voices who can take a backseat to allow players to hold the spotlight! - Occasional cinematic moments for atmosphere building and deeper understanding of the module's meta-plot!

Homebrew rules

A small suite of Quality of Life homebrew adjustments, such as Scaling Background Lore, less punishing (voluntary) fall damage, and concrete ways to earn Hero Points!

Safety

How Jack creates a safe table

• Upon joining the game you'll receive a form to anonymously fill in Lines and Veils. • Session 0 will include discussions of the content in this module and player comfort levels, as well as general character building/dynamics. • The game will have a Foundry module that enables the X card to allow any player to anonymously call for a break/fade to black/re-evaluation of the included content. The default expectation for this experience is that the setting is hostile, combat is dangerous, and character death is more than possible! A tonally, mechanically lighter experience is possible, but would need discussion and agreement from every player. Despite this, I'm happy to welcome beginners to Pathfinder 2e and explain the rules to them as we go!
