About the adventure
"The Shattered Obelisk" is a Dungeons & Dragons adventure that continues the story of the classic "Lost Mine of Phandelver." *The Setting: The adventure takes place in and around the town of Phandalin. *The Challenge: Players must investigate strange occurrences and uncover a sinister plot that threatens the safety of Phandalin and the surrounding region. *The Journey: The adventure features exploration, challenging encounters, and the potential for exciting roleplaying opportunities. "The Shattered Obelisk" is designed to be an engaging and challenging experience, especially for players who are new to Dungeons & Dragons. If you are new, I'll teach you in an easy going campaign as you learn the rules as we go, while helping a small hamlet on the edge of the frontier. No books? No problem. You'll be able to borrow my digital ones. I'll help you make a character using the new 2024 D&D rules for free and then we'll join your new friends and adventuring partners. Character creation and campaign explanation time (session zero) is included with the price of the first session.

Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

What I provide

Gameplay details
There will be a session 0 for any questions or concerns in the Discord. Anyone can announce an X, or just say stop, and we'll take a break, regroup and move on. And I will definitely be checking in on everyone after a session.

How will character creation work
Players will use a campaign built on D&D Beyond to make characters. Level 1. Anything not from the PHB needs DM approval. We will create characters in Discord before the first session.
