EFC Presents: Epic Hunts
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
The multiverse is full of monsters that plague the populous. Why hunt them for profit and prosperity for all, when you can do it for fun and profit?! From the producers of Epic Fighting Championships, this is Epic Hunts! You and your team of adventures, board the spelljammer ship, The Dauntless, for a monster hunt in a random location across the multiverse. This is a level 5 adventure of good old fashion monster hunting.
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Creativity
Voices
Storytelling
Vernon is awesome! Very accommodating and clear on the rules, he also powered through the session even though he was sick. He made the whole session very exciting and interwove the narrative with combat well. The story was really unique, and he let me make creative decisions that fit my character well even though it might've thrown a wrench into his plans. He did great voices and paints a really descriptive story. He allowed us to all each take a boon and incorporated the gifts and character backstories really well, which some other GMs might tend to neglect. He creates a really immersive world and takes all details of your character into account. I've played with probably over 20+ GMs on StartPlaying, and he's one of the best. I highly recommend him.
Very fun one-shot! This was my second time ever playing D&D online, and my first time with online combat. Vernon answered every question with speed and patience. Fun characters, voices, and storytelling. He even powered through the session with a head cold and still sounded great. Thanks!

How to prepare
Voice communication will be done over Discord (I will provide the Discord link before game start). Rolls will be done via D&D Beyond. I will send the campaign link for that as well with materials available via content share. Webcams are optional, but microphones are required. Please have characters ready and created one hour before the start time of the game.
What I provide
Unfortunately, I will not bring any physical materials to the game. Maps and visual aids will be provided via Owlbear Rodeo and Discord. I will also share character creation material via D&D Beyond.
Gameplay details
This will be what some would call a co-petative game. Players will be on a team taking on a random monster that is designed to challenge them. Note, there will be time for players to gather information on the target and the location, but that is up to them. The overall theme is that the players are on a 'televised' hunting show, but the stakes for them are very real.

Please use point buy or standard array stats. Multiclassing is allowed as long as stat minimums are met. Players are allowed starting equipment and choice of one uncommon item.
