Little Hollow | Modern Fantasy w/ Hidden Magic | Kids on Brooms
Kids on Brooms | Campaign
About the adventure
Little Hollow is a small town somewhere on the East Coast, sometime near modern day, and somehow a little bit different than everywhere else. For some in Little Hollow, things are just as they should be anywhere else in small town America, but for others, life is infused with the arcane and mystical. Creatures from fairy tales and myth walk these streets in magic glamours designed to hide their true form as they integrate with an unknowing society. Spellcasters make their coffee discreetly, warming it to the perfect temperature with sorcery behind their coworker's backs. Warriors of power hide their magical armaments beneath beds and closets, hoping to never have to use it. The rule has always been to stay hidden, but something threatens to break through. This is a Kids on Brooms game that plans to take players on a journey packed full of meaningful moments and strong characters with complex motivations. Kids on Brooms is a rules light game that allows for players who are wanting to dip their toes into roleplay a good starting position and gives them the tools to succeed. Queer & neurodivergent friendly.
Game style
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

What I provide
This game will utilize Discord while staying mostly with Theater of the Mind. I however will provide visual aids that I create myself with maps of the locations we visit, character images when applicable, and ambience when appropriate. As far as my GMing style goes, I enjoy helping players create strong character arcs and
Gameplay details
The game will begin with a Session 0 to establish lore and characters, but also to establish boundaries and comfort. The setting does include some horror elements, so covering topics that need to be excluded is important for good, comfortable storytelling. I will be using the Consent Checklist to assist with this. Each session will use the X,N, and O system with channels in Discord to message in during session to utilize the system privately. At the end of each session we'll discuss how we felt about the session and cover Stars and Wishes, as this is a character motivated game and I as a GM want to help provide the character moments you want.

How will character creation work
I want this game to be easily accessible to beginners, so character creation will take place during session 0 with character sheets being hosted on Google Sheets (using a spreadsheet I have made myself). We will use the tropes listed in the main book, however I am open to custom or homebrewed tropes as well!
