Forgotten Foes | 5/5.5e One Shots
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
The Forests of Cormanthyr, the shifting sands of Anauroch, the winding streets of Waterdeep. What do all of these places have in common? Adventurers explore them in the hopes of finding lost treasures, tantalizing secrets, or wondrous scenes! What will you find wandering through the Forgotten Realms? These one-shots come from various authors, and all are set in the Forgotten Realms! I have extensive experience helping players learn to play 5e, so don't feel like you can't enjoy one of the greatest role playing games ever made.
Game style
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
This one-shot series will follow the Lost Tales of Myth Drannor, a wonderful Adventurer's League module you can find on DMs Guild. One-Shots on StartPlaying are single session sign ups only. So if you want to go through the whole series, you'll have to sign up for each session individually. There are 6 total adventures. - The Darkwood Webs (lvl 1-4). Start with one uncommon magic item. - The Weirding Vats (lvl 1-4). Start with one uncommon magic item. - Spawn of the Maimed Virulence (lvl 5-10). Start with two uncommon magic items or one rare item. - Echoes of the Weeping War (lvl 5-10). Start with two uncommon magic items or one rare item. - Forgotten Foes (lvl 11-16) Start with two rare magic items. - The Definition of Heroism (lvl 17-20). Start with two very rare magic items.

Knows the Rules
Very smooth VTT on Roll20 with audio on Discord. No tech glitches. Game play was wonderful. GM knows the resources and rules and does a great job of breathing life into the NPC's and monsters. Although I am not usually a fan of background music while playing, Syd's added to, rather than detracted from, the overall experience. I was playing with two friends and two players I had never met or played with before. I was a nice group that integrated into a party smoothly. Well done Syd, and thanks for a very enjoyable 3 hours. I and at least one of my compatriots have signed up for the next One Shot in the sequence. I am looking forward to the new module!

How to prepare
Players will need a Roll20 and Discord accounts and have a basic understanding of how to play DnD (ie, rolling dice, basic arithmetic, etc). Players will only need a microphone, and we'll be using Discord for voice chat.
What I provide
Roll20 assets. I love using fun voices for characters. Not all of my voices are great, but I have a couple here and there that are really good. I also love helping people learn to play RPGs. Not just 5e, but Cypher, Alien RPG, and more.
