The Dragon of Icespire Peak
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
The frontier town of Phandalin stands on the edge of civilization, a beacon of hope in the untamed wilds. But that hope is quickly fading. A fearsome white dragon, Cryovain, has descended from the Sword Mountains, claiming the icy peaks as its domain. Its shadow darkens the land, and its frozen breath spells doom for those who dare to defy it. Trade routes have gone silent, hunters have vanished into the snow, and the people of Phandalin live in terror, waiting for the day the dragon turns its hungry eyes toward them. The town needs heroes—brave adventurers willing to stand against the storm and carve their legend into the frostbitten earth. But the dragon is only the beginning. Bandits, monsters, and ancient dangers stir in the wake of Cryovain's chaos, each with their own stake in the fate of the region. Forgotten ruins hide long-lost secrets, while the wilderness teems with creatures both wondrous and deadly. Will you rise as Phandalin’s saviors, battling through peril to slay the beast? Or will you seek power of your own, forging alliances with forces beyond mortal reckoning? The chill of winter is setting in, and only the bold will survive the Dragon of Icespire Peak.
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

How to prepare
You'll need a microphone and filled out character sheet. Everything else you'll need will be clear based on the pre-decided medium of play.
What I provide
I primarily run Theatre of the Mind but can use Roll20 when needed. I offer content sharing on D&D Beyond, blending homebrew and official content for a unique experience. I use character voices, ambient music, and immersive storytelling to bring the world to life. Combat is balanced but often leans toward action unless the group prefers more narrative focus. I mix Rules as Written with Rule of Cool—if you want to try something creative, go for it, and we’ll see how it plays out. Homebrew is welcome, just send it my way for approval. Player choices shape the story, and I’ll work through unexpected decisions narratively. Player conflicts are handled case-by-case to ensure a fun and fair game for everyone. At my table, expect engaging storytelling, thrilling combat, and plenty of chances to shape the world around you.
