No Small Crimes in Lankhmar for D&D5e! Beginners Welcome!
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
Enter the thrilling world of Fritz Leiber’s Nehwon, home to the legendary city of Lankhmar and the infamous heroes Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser! Prepare yourself to battle members of the city’s nefarious Thieves’ Guild in fog-shrouded alleys, to barter for cursed curios in the Plaza of Dark Delights, and to seek the wisdom of Ningauble of the Seven Eyes and Sheelba of the Eyeless Face! The classic sword-and-sorcery experience is one of wild fun set in a metropolis: Roof-top chases, Thieves Guild machinations, see-through ghouls, fell sorcery, awakened elder gods, as much skullduggery and swashbuckling as a gaming group can handle with the DCC. Expect a good, old–fashioned city campaign of heists and hijinks. "Campaign you say? I thought this was a one-shot? It's not a typo. It is a campaign. Show up every week or show up when you can. The city will remain alive and vibrant with new missions each week. The players will be working together. If you can't make a session, no worries. The story continues. Or play it as a one shot. Or as a bi-weekly. It's up to you. I can guarantee you will want to play every week as your colleagues get better, richer and more powerful while you relax... Each weekly adventure will be designed to handle the crew that takes the job. Beginners are always welcome. This is a great campaign to learn and play the rogues, the duelists, bards, monks and barbarians in a world designed for them to flourish. I can't wait to play with you!
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
You are outside of Lord Suttar’s home on Glulditch Court. You’ve heard rumors of a treasure concealed beneath the floorboards of the building and have come to investigate. Glulditch Court is a lonely cul-de-sac situated between the Rich Men’s Quarter and the Crafts Quarter, a dead-end street overlooked by most Lankhmarts. It seems a street forgotten by the city at large. One three-story, narrow stone building has clearly been abandoned. The wooden boards over its shuttered windows and the rusty chain and lock securing the front door are weathered with age. Dead ornamental bushes flank the short steps leading up to the entrance portico and the lawn is strewn with broken tiles fallen from the building’s steep roof. A single narrow alleyway presumably leads to the rear garden of the empty home. Strangely, the third floor lacks any windows, presenting a solid stone façade to the court below. Looking about you, you see Glulditch Court is empty and the sounds of traffic on nearby Silver Street is muted. You feel you can approach the home undetected. "No Small Crimes in Lankhmar" is an adventure set in the city of Lankhmar from Fritz Leiber's fantasy stories, where even seemingly minor acts of theft or deception can lead to dangerous and unpredictable consequences, often involving the city's criminal underworld and powerful entities; it is typically considered a "heist" style adventure where players explore a seemingly abandoned building, only to uncover hidden dangers and complex secrets within its walls, often involving magical traps and powerful foes.
