Best Day of Their Lives | Queer Space Opera Two-Shot
Thirsty Sword Lesbians | Campaign
About the adventure
You are diplomats from the Interstellar Realm of Queertopia representing the Sovereigns at a long-awaited royal wedding. The Crown Prince of the Heteronormian Empire, a neighboring realm with which Queertopia has a rather strained relationship, is getting married!... until he isn't, because he's missing and presumed kidnapped on his own wedding day. The Hets are assuming you're to blame. Prove your innocence and avoid interstellar war by... sigh... bringing Prince Whatshisface home to have his hetero wedding with Lady Whatsherbritches. ~~~ This is an introductory game for Thirsty Sword Lesbians. If you've played before, you should have fun again, but if you're new, this game is designed for you! In this system, conflict is solved through negotiation, flirtation, and, if all else fails, violence. Play will be highly collaborative, beginning as we fine-tune the scenario together in the first of the two sessions. Expect heavy role-playing and story moments that will remain in your memory forever. Setting Source Material: Space Operas, with a dash of My Big Fat Greek Wedding Tone: Rambunctiously silly, swashbuckling mystery
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare
A good mic and webcam help a lot! We want to build relationships, ideally friendships, and for me at least, seeing faces helps with that so much. We run sessions and coordinate before and between sessions in a private channel on my server, Oaksong Games (join here: https://discord.gg/639G9N9SpV). Bring a few six-sided dice or your favorite online dice-roller to sessions.
What I provide
I am a narrative-focused GM who builds a story collaboratively with all the players. I love to fold in your ideas to make the world more rich and compelling. While I usually use "Theater of the Mind" instead of a battlemap for maximum adaptability, I supplement with excellent visuals, skillful voice acting, and, in this case, wedding planning experience! I also provide my conflict resolution training, teaching background, and many years of professional leadership facilitating groups. I help new and shy players be heard in the group and encourage more confident players to make space for everyone. I'm always ready to hear what you need for this space to be inclusive of your needs, and I thrive on player feedback.
Gameplay details
I use narrative, co-creative systems like Thirsty Sword Lesbians because they are easy to learn and adapt to our ideas. I'm excellent at teaching new systems, so don't worry if you've never played this one before. You'll be ready to go in no time! I'm also delighted to welcome experienced TSL players. There are few triggers that are baked-in to the scenario, and those will be handled with care for our tender rainbow hearts. At our first session, we will learn one another's additional tricky topics via a "Lines and Veils" process and customize the scenario to make sure that the game remains fun and safe for all. Players who aren't interested in supporting one another's emotional well-being will need to find another game, and I'm here to guide us through any conflicts that arise.

How will character creation work
Before the first session, we will decide on which Playbook (type of character) each person wants to play and flesh out characters, then at our first session, we will build party relationships and answer a few questions that will customize the adventure setting. All standard Thirsty Sword Lesbians playbooks are welcome for this adventure, and some third-party ones may work as well - feel free to ask!
