Abomination Vaults

Abomination Vaults

Pathfinder 2e | Campaign

About the adventure

Deep below the sleepy coastal town of Otari, an ancient evil stirs. The ruins of a long-forgotten fortress, swallowed by the hungry earth, have become a twisted labyrinth teeming with deadly traps, cunning foes, and the lingering echoes of a powerful sorceress who once ruled from the depths. Legends speak of the Abomination Vaults, a sprawling mega-dungeon filled with lost knowledge, arcane secrets, and treasures beyond imagining. But where there is wealth, there is also danger—the vaults are awakening, and if left unchecked, the horrors within may spill out and consume the world above. This campaign is a dark fantasy dungeon crawl set in the world of Golarion, offering players a mix of exploration, tactical combat, and problem-solving. The Abomination Vaults reward those who delve deep, uncovering lore, making strategic decisions, and working together to overcome overwhelming odds. If you enjoy challenging encounters, intricate dungeon design, and unraveling the mysteries of a cursed ruin, this adventure will be a perfect fit. I run games with a strong focus on immersion, tactical depth, and player agency. Expect dangerous fights where teamwork and strategy are key, rewarding roleplay opportunities, and an evolving world that reacts to your choices. Whether you're a veteran delver or new to Pathfinder 2e, this campaign will provide a thrilling experience as you test your mettle against one of the most legendary dungeons in the system. Are you ready to descend into the darkness?

Game style

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Dungeon Crawl

A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How will character creation work

Character creation will take place before the first session, so we can dive right into the adventure right away. Players will use Pathbuilder2e.com to build their characters, as it streamlines the process and integrates well with Foundry VTT. Character Creation Guidelines: Starting Level: Level 1. Ability Scores: Standard Boosts & Flaws method (no rolling). Ancestries, Backgrounds, and Classes: All official Pathfinder 2e Remaster options are allowed. If you want to use something uncommon or third-party, check with me first. Free Archetype Rule: We will be using the Free Archetype rule for extra customization and character depth. Ancestry Paragon Rule: This rule is in effect, allowing characters to gain an additional Ancestry Feat at levels 1, 5, 9, 13, and 17 instead of the usual progression. Equipment & Wealth: Standard starting gear as per class/background. Backstory & Ties to Otari: While your character can be from anywhere, they should have a reason to be in Otari, whether as a resident, traveler, or mercenary drawn to the rumors of the Abomination Vaults. How to Submit Your Character Create your character in Pathbuilder2e and send me a link to your character sheet before Session 1. If you need help or have questions, I’m happy to assist with character creation. The goal is to create engaging, well-rounded characters that fit into the setting and work well with the party. Let’s build something awesome together!
