About the adventure
This campaign will be based on the backstories of your characters, in Critical Role's Exandria setting, which is based on the Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn. I do not want to set a timeline up front, I really want this campaign to be about your characters and what you want to play. To that end, we will have at least one session 0 where we will talk about character creation and the type of adventure you are looking for, and as I mentioned earlier, we will decide when the campaign will take place in the Critical Role timeline. We will start with a character level between 1 and 3. We will also discuss this in session 0. The campaign will be beginner-friendly but will be well-suited for seasoned players too.

Creating your character
There will be a free session 0 where we can talk about character creation. However, if questions arise before this session, I will be available in Discord. For this campaign, we’ll be using the 2024 rules, but you’re welcome to use the 2014 rules for character creation if you prefer, just let me know in advance. For ability scores, you can choose standard array, point buy, or rolling. For HP, you can either take the fixed values or roll. Please don’t use any third-party or homebrew content (Critical Role content is the exception).
For this campaign, we'll be using the 2024 rules, but if you prefer to create your character using the 2014 rules, just let me know in advance. The characters are currently at Lvl 3 exploring the bustling port city of Nicodranas.

You’ll need a D&D Beyond account, a Discord account, and a microphone so we can communicate.
What Joe brings to the table
I usually stick to the rules, but not too strictly—my main goal is to make the sessions fun for you. I’m a roleplay-oriented GM, but that doesn’t mean combat is excluded, especially in dungeon crawlers. As for the tools we’ll be using: Maps are created with Dungeon Alchemist. Foundry VTT will be our virtual tabletop. D&D Beyond will be used for character creation (I can share all my content with you). Discord will be our main platform for communication and atmosphere.
