About the adventure
A great city shattered in the aftermath of war. A population struggling to piece together what remains of their lives. A chain of disappearances with a dark and bloody source... Welcome to the city of Goramma, where the shadows have teeth. For this mini-campaign, you'll play a group of level 10 heroes-- an amateur detective agency, perhaps-- who find themselves the only defense against a macabre, necromantic threat. Expect chills, thrills, and maybe even total party kills as you struggle to undercover the wrecked city's secrets before it's too late. SOME THEMES INCLUDE: - Horror - Betrayal - Corruption - Stress - Plucky heroism in the face of incredible odds! - Death - Heart, grit, and hope Expect 3 to 5 sessions. Bring a cleric... you'll need one where you're going.

About me
Hi! I'm a Dungeon Master in my free time (during the day I'm an acting major at college in NYC). I run several weekly D&D home games with different groups of players and I'm used to adapting to various genres and tones. In life, I genuinely don't think anything has as much power to bring people together as storytelling. I love meeting new people and learning what they want from their characters and their narratives. (And yes, I promise I'll read your backstory.)

Creating your character
We can cover the nitty gritty details of character creation in session 0 (or over DMs, if you're feeling particularly industrious and wanna get a headstart), but here are the basics: ~ Bring a level 10 character (using legacy 2014 rules, not 2024 ones! ~ Who is a relatively GOOD PERSON, please ~ Painful backstories are absolutely welcome (there was just a WAR) but it's best if you have some hope for the world. You know, so I can crush it. ~ Most any sources are fine! No Silvery Barbs. Not for the reasons you'd expect. ~ Use the 4d6 (drop the lowest) method for base stats.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: ~ A Discord account ~ A good WiFi connection, a mic, and a camera ~ At least a passing mastery of your character abilities ~ Eagerness to get in mortal peril and have a shitload of fun!
What Evie brings to the table
Get ready for intriguing NPCs (with fun voices!) and deep, immersive worldbuilding. Combat for this mini-campaign will be Theater of the Mind, and when it comes to the rules, I wholeheartedly encourage you to wield the fine print like a weapon but embrace the Rule of Cool when it serves you best. Overall, I want you to have fun! I want to get you invested in the world and the plot. I want you to debate yourself over your choices and I want you to feel PROUD of your characters and what they've achieved. Also I want to see the looks on your faces when everything comes crashing down around you. Much love.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Flanking grants advantage. Held actions give you a full round of attacks.

How Evie creates a safe table
Session 0 will include: ~ player introductions ~ game/theme expectations ~ character creation (unless you're inspired to do it in advance) ~ tie-ins between the party members and the world you're going to inhabit. Lines and Veils (via the Consent Checklist) will either be kept publicly in a Discord server or messaged privately between the player and DM (player's choice). Debriefs will give everyone a chance to express their feelings about the most recent session, share feedback, and shoot out guesses as to what might lie ahead. Breaks will be 10-ish minutes long in the middle of every session, but players can feel free to dip in and out as needed, although the game is intended to be less blatantly HORRIFYING than it is hair-raising and heart-pounding. I want you to be more stressed/excited than you are scared.
