About the adventure
In this narrative focused campaign, set in a low-magic setting, your characters will uncover knowledge lost to the centuries, unlock ancient mysteries to unfathomable power, and hopefully keep great evil at bay. Under a white hot sun, elder trees strangle the ruins of forgotten empires, the echoes of fallen gods still whisper through the canopy. Once teeming with life the heartbeat of the jungle is muffled, halted. Something deep within its boughs and shadowed vale’s festers. Dragonborn toil along the clear emerald waters of the coastline under the constant threat of the encroaching jungle, unwittingly in the shadow of what came before them. Once the elves wielded the jungle against the other peoples of this forsaken island, washing over towns and temples like a tsunami. Predator becomes prey. Now, the jungle’s elven protectors are forced from their woodland homes into the light. In the still ruins of the jungle’s greatest temple, an amber throne still stands. A buried civilization’s forgotten warden which denied a catastrophe’s final embrace, only to be trapped in a grave of her making. Here she stands, reigning over only bones and distant dreams. As war drums sound in the jungle, as dragons and demons stir once more, and as the echoes of history’s gravest sins come to visit, the past is not yet finished with the present.
Meet the Game Master
About me
I’ve been running games for nearly 5 decades in hundreds of systems. I’m constantly learning and seek to run games that are thought provoking and challenging for the characters in a safe environment for the players.

Creating your character
Pre-generated characters will be provided. A black Dragonborn farmer turned Champion. A wood elf Wayfarer turned Gloam Stalker. A green Dragonborn artisan turned Thief. A Stone Goliath acolyte turned Zealot. Characters start at 3rd level.
Looking for a fresh take on adventures. Want your choices to not only effect the characters but the world itself (at least the characters part of the world). Want an engaging way to interact with other players - trust issues, relationships, leadership conflicts, etc - without going full PvP? Come check out this low magic romp through dangerous jungles, ruined temples, and cursed cities.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Links available soon to the Discord and Foundry servers. You will need a working mic but not a camera. It’s expected you have a relatively quiet environment without interruptions. A code of conduct will be posted but it likely looks similar to StartPlayings Code of Conduct. Everything else is provided. We will do everything in the computer including rolling dice. As I mention above, a set of rules modifications will be provided.
What Scott brings to the table
First off I should tell you that I am a podcaster and content creator. I will likely streaming our game on Moonbeam, a new streaming service like Twitch. I do not show player faces and we’ll be using your character names, not your real names. I’ll use Discord and Foundry as narrative tools to tell an evocative tale. My use of tactical maps is limited and often not-gridded if I can help it. You will be given virtual miniatures for placement and clarity but a lot of combat is fast paced and narrative. Pre-generated characters will be provided. See below. I have some system drift from D&D 2024: * Difficulties tend to be higher. * I utilize Disadvantages heavily. * I implement mixed success instead of just fail/succeed. * You never roll damage. It’s based on the weapon and how well you roll to hit. * Players gain XP based on 4 step character goals. All character stats, spells, abilities, and backgrounds will be provided. Rules that differ from the 2024 PHB and DMG will be clearly written out and saved in the Discord server.
Homebrew rules
• damage based on how well you hit • clear consequences to failure and partial success • generally speaking, GM doesn’t roll dice instead relies on player roles to defend against NPC actions

How Scott creates a safe table
We will use DMs and messaging to transmit information that scene may need to be closed - either public or private, as the player wishes. We will have a separate discord channel for this game’s lines, veils, and expectations. We will discuss these in the first session.
