About the adventure

After crawling your way out from the undead mazes in the Under City, you enter a land not much better off. Ostoya is a place of suffering. Of Darkness and bloodshed from within and without. You must quickly orient yourself to this place and its rulership, the Crimson Court. But more pressingly, you must survive the newest curse that steals the sickly in the night. About me

27y.o. Creative writer from Athens GA. I got into tabletop and DnD right before starting college, then took off during my college years in the local RPG club. After graduation in 2020 and the everything that happened, having my crew of ttrpg buddies and baddies to go after kept me sane. Now I want to extend that magic to others also looking for a bit of creative release in a hectic world. I've played mostly DnD 5e and am gradually adjusting to the recent updates in 5.5, and also have some experience with the Lancer rpg system.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using discord for voice and organization and google drawings for active play. Feel free to create your own level 1 character prior to session 0, and if using any homebrew content it must be from a published source. We will also be using a backstory template sheet for characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A discord account and mic for base access, camera optional.

What Deja Gonsalves brings to the table

Over the years I've found I enjoy working with my players a lot for what happens in a session or a region, especially those with a more robust backstory that I can then incorporate into populating a town or a lair for a mini-boss. I leave a lot of room for roleplay, but don't skimp on combat either, especially during travel. I plan grand arcs and webs of villainous networks for my players to unravel or tie knots in as they see fit. I'm also very easy to amuse, so good jokes and meme chats in the discord aplenty. I value an organized 'home base' for campaigns, you can expect a book keeping tab, a dice rolling tab, and an index of npcs/locations to name a few tools in my belt.

Homebrew rules

We will be using the Grim Hollow Homebrew Campaign Guide and some of its mechanics such as Grievous Wounds/Permanent Wounds, Transformations, and Advanced Backgrounds

Safety

How Deja Gonsalves creates a safe table

Session 0 will better detail the content within the game, as well as determine the nature of how player characters meet and escape the Undercity to enter the world. We will be using lines and veils, as well as some hard boundaries as discussed in session 0. This is dark fantasy, grim world where the gods are dead and the undead rule with business-like cruelty. The party may represent the good left in this world against the horrors of its descent into darkness, or you all may succumb to evil just as many have before you, but be warned this campaign is not for the light of heart or easily disturbed.
