Creating your character

- Standard Array or Point Buy for stats - 2014 rules - All official WotC classes and backgrounds are welcome - Feel free to use Tasha's Custom Origin rules and other optional rules from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. - When creating your character, make sure they could have a reason to adventure with the party. Please no evil characters in heroic campaigns. - When levelling up, if you roll below the average for HP- you can take the average instead. I'm happy to help you craft a character and help bring your hero to life together! I encourage players to bring their own unique ideas and creativity to their character's backstory. I then craft the world and story around the players characters. I can also make a pre-generated character sheet if you'd like to just jump in. I will have a channel in the campaign's Discord server where players can discuss character creation and I set up private chats for each player so you can speak directly with me about your character. I am open to 3rd party material or homebrew but it is on a case by case basis. We will create character sheets using Roll20 before your first session. If you have any difficulties making a character sheet on Roll20, I am happy to help you. You are also welcome to make a character sheet in another way and I can input it to Roll20 for you. Or you can make your sheet on D&D Beyond and use the Beyond20 extension.

Preparing for the session

- Working Microphone - Stable Internet Connection - Roll20 Account - Discord Account - Working Webcam (optional) I prefer everyone to be on video chat on Discord as I think it really adds to the game to see each other but it's not required (and it helps with accidental interrupting and other webcam meeting awkwardness). Character sheets and rolling will be on Roll20 along with music and visuals to immerse you in the game. If you prefer D&DBeyond for character sheets, you can use the Beyond20 extension to use it for the Roll20 campaign. What Em brings to the table

I create highly immersive experiences including voice acting, engaging background images, thematic music, making custom tokens and art for your PCs, portraits for all NPCs, and custom-made maps, tokens, effects, monsters, and other visual aids. My games often have a focus on roleplay and exploration but I tailor games to the group and am happy to balance puzzles and combat in that mix however the group prefers! I play by the rule of cool and love narrative Nat 20s and 1s. I have a firm grasp of the rules but I'm also flexible with what makes the best story and experience. I offer a paid Roll20 account and my expertise with both Roll20 and Discord. Although Roll20 does not offer some character options (such as Genasi or Tortles), I am easily able to manually add anything not immediately available on the VTT. I am happy to teach how to use Roll20 and/or input all the character sheet information for you.

How Em creates a safe table

I prioritize fun, inclusivity, respectful interaction, and fostering a creative and cooperative atmosphere. To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all players, I use safety tools. I have all players fill out a brief survey of Lines, Veils, and expectations before we start playing. I then share the anonymised results with the group before session 0. Session 0 is free and where we will discuss expectations. I utilize the X card and encourage players to message me privately at any time. I also do check-ins after sessions. There is no sexual assault, homophobia, racism, sexism, genocide, transphobia, or explicitly described sex in my games. (I have also been told my games are good for people with Aphantasia or who have difficulty with theater of the mind, because of my heavy use of visuals).
