About the adventure

Against Shadow and Flame About the adventure In this campaign, you'll join a desperate mission to save a prominent nation from otherworldly invasion. Two powerful entities - Kallarys from the Shadowfell and Malevath from the Nine Hells - have breached our reality through tears created by fanatical cults. The Queen of this threatened nation has called for representatives from other nations to combat this threat. Whether you come as nobility, a renowned mercenary, or a delegate from a powerful guild, success could forge lasting alliances between your nations. Starting with just a briefing from the Queen's court, every decision on how to save this fracturing realm is yours. You'll explore through this homebrew world, where reality frays at its edges as chaos and destruction spreads. Kallarys spreads corruption, his Shadowfell influence seeping between realities. Malevath unleashes chaos through devastation, her infernal power growing more violent each day. This journey demands wit over warfare. From desperate refugees to corrupted nobles, you'll need to discern truth and forge alliances to counter the growing chaos. How will you and your companions save this ancient realm from these otherworldly powers, and what price will victory demand? _______________________________________________________________________ Tone and Style This campaign features mature themes and intense role-playing scenarios. Game style

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Amazing! Sov is a masterful storyteller that will keep you engage every step of the way. He does a great job incorporating every players ideas into the main story itself without sacrificingthe plot. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

From my perspective of a heavy roleplayer, Sov is a great and fantastic DM who values setting a beautiful scene and allowing people to sink into it as far as they wish. He rarely stumbles and often flourishes in the chaos of the moment, offering both fun and somber moments with expert poise. Gentle and kind, he is often very fair. All persons are welcome into his table, so long as they are polite and respectful! Combat is kept simple so it doesn't bog down. (For those similar to me who do not enjoy it as much) Still, it does happen. And to dramatic effect! Albeit less emphasized, his ability to weave a perilous combat is regardless quite effective. A large mixture of theatre of the mind and plain board layout. Though, with his narrative skill, any encounter is still quite fun and often a playground for more storytelling from both sides. Sov also genuinely takes the time to incorporate player choice and their backgrounds into the narrative with surprising and satisfying revelations. Each week I am greeted with a deeply rewarding experience, leaving me pining for the next session.
