Abomination Vaults

If you like classic dungoneering, it doesn't really get much better. With a compeling villain, a lore-rich adventure location, and the town of Otari to serve as a home and a motivation for the player characters, "Abomination Vaults" is as complete an adventure package as you could wish for. Despite keeping almost all of the adventuring in a single "dungeon", through its varied levels, secrets, and discoveries, each time you decent a staircase inside the ruins it feels like you are discovering a new world. As a 1st to 10th level adventure, it's also much a more realistic choice for most groups than a 20 level saga, and it manages to maintain a coherent story throughout, without the dilution we see in longer adventure paths. The Foundry VTT module is beautifuly immersive and 100% ready-to-play. Another advantage of this module, for both GM and players, is that because of its popularity there is a plethora of 3rd party resources available (in addition to Paizo's own "Otari" supplements) to help you flesh out the campaign, and give players things to do outside the dungeon if that is needed.

What Forbidden Lands does, it does really well. It offers an old school exploration-based experience with a very modern, sleek, design. The main innovation, for me, is that the system has a built in way to "reward" failure that incentivises players to make bold and risky choices. The world of Forbidden Lands is filled with unique twists on fantasy tropes, and the way they are gradually revealed to the players through play is absolutely delightful. The fresh new take on goblin lore, in particular, is both ridiculous and terrifying. As a GM, what I enjoyed the most is that the system is capable of keeping /me/ as surprised and engaged as the players. It's also a relatively low prep system, as long as you feel comfortable with that.

Jarn's game was immersive, accessible, and evocative of the world of Thedas in a way that satisfied my familiarity with the setting from the Dragon Age games, but also allowed for both the GM and the players to make Thedas their own. His DM style is very much "rulings over rules", which was perfect for this less crunchy and more open-ended system (the Dragon Age TTRPG).

Allffo is a very generous GM, who makes sure the players feel enabled to do cool things at the table. He was very genuine and infectuous enthusiasm for the game.

As a forever GM, I'm really impressed by Domenic's ability to make the players feel like they're doing epic, heroic things, while also keeping the game challenging and full of surprises. His approach really encourages (and rewards) taking risks. He keeps encounters fast-paced and dynamic, which is not alqways easy in Pathfinder 2nd Edition!
