About the adventure

This World Summons Too Many Heroes!! is a tabletop rpg about regular people being pulled into a fantasy world to become heroes, demon lords, goblins, talking swords, or any kind of adventurer you could think of! Go on an isekai adventure in the Kingdoms of Ceria, where summoning scrolls have been scattered across the countryside and people are recklessly using them to steal people from other worlds and bring them into this one with new powers gifted to them by a goddess of reincarnation. While this game is being launched on Kickstarter, I will be running introductory one-shots for people to learn the system and experience the game for themselves.

About me

Hello! Over the last decade I've been running tabletop games in bars, at conventions, in the lounge rooms of all of my friends, and online. I was first introduced to D&D by a family friend whose campaign had been running for over 20 years, and seeing the incredible world they'd all created inspired me to start running games of my own as soon as I could. I love how collaborative and flexible TTRPGs can be, and how two groups can surprise you with how differently they approach the same adventure. I like to run games with a strong hook or core concept. Here are some of my favourite kinds of campaigns to run: - low stakes cozy fantasy (shopkeeper adventures, townbuilder campaigns, etc.) - dramatic and Gothic dark fantasy (especially with undead and monstrous PCs) - high concept adventures ("X meets Y", classic action movie concepts, parody and weirdness) I'm based in the tropics of northern Australia, but I run games at all hours of the day. If you'd like to hear some of my work, I have been the GM for most seasons of the Real Fantasy Encounters actual play podcast at https://realfantasyencounters.com/. I have extensive GM experience with games like Lancer, Masks, D&D and Pathfinder, Blades In The Dark, Spire/Heart, and Mork Borg, as well as my own Gothic horror medical drama TTRPG Bloodclotte and my isekai themed fantasy comedy game This World Summons Too Many Heroes!!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will ideally happen before the session - I am happy to help with this through Discord. I have a character concept generator available at https://perchance.org/oggdusqkee if you would like to generate a character randomly. You may use content from the core book and any of the three expansions.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need Discord for voice chat, and ideally they will have created their characters beforehand. Reading the rules beforehand is helpful but not necessary - I will be teaching them during the session.

What Duffo brings to the table

The game will run on Foundry (which players can run through their browser), with voice chat over Discord. I will provide maps and other image backdrops for the game. If you do not own the rulebook, I am happy to provide community copies as the creator of the game.

Safety

How Duffo creates a safe table

Players will receive a sign-on form that will give them the opportunity to set their expectations for the game and express their level of comfort with different topics and themes. The tone of the game is light and comedic so heavy content is not expected.
