About the adventure
Dungeons of Drakkenheim is an intense, dark fantasy campaign set in a ruined, monster-riddled city where danger lurks around every corner. Five years ago, a meteor fell upon the great city of Drakkenheim, transforming it into a nightmarish wasteland filled with mutated creatures, toxic magic, and rival factions fighting to reclaim its secrets. For those brave enough to venture into the fallen city, riches, power, and knowledge await—but only if they can survive the horrors within. The game blends exploration, combat, and intrigue as players navigate the deadly ruins, each choice impacting the city’s balance of power. In Dungeons of Drakkenheim, you’ll find yourself pitted against unimaginable foes, contending with the city's corrupting magic known as "The Haze," and deciding the fate of factions vying for control. Some seek to restore Drakkenheim to its former glory, while others wish to use its tainted relics for dark ambitions. Your party may choose alliances carefully or reject them all, but beware: trust is a rare commodity in this lawless place, and betrayal often brings deadly consequences. This campaign is for players who love deep roleplay, tactical combat, and a storyline that evolves based on their actions. Expect moral dilemmas, tough fights, and a gritty tone where hope is as scarce as fresh air. It’s a game for adventurers who don't mind getting their hands dirty and are willing to risk it all in search of power, purpose, or simply survival. The choices you make will reshape Drakkenheim, for better or worse—if you live long enough to see it.

About me
I always loved creating fascinating stories and situations for player characters to react and solve. My promise is that sessions will be engaging, intense, and dramatic, as we experience the stories of the world and our characters unfold before our eyes. Writing this after doing over 40 sessions for SPG. I first got into DMing for DnD for family and friends, eventually branching out to online communities. While I maintain those sessions I also was curious if I could make a living out of being a DM as all of the players I DMed for showed enthusiastic support and eagerness for each and every session. Branching out to SPG I started with just a single session, and they loved it. Then when Dragonlance released I put out a few more sessions that wouldn't conflict with my work schedule and with all of their enthusiastic love, support and encouragement for me as a DM and for the stories we tell as well as their eagerness for next session "Is it (session day) yet?" I decided to try to make this silly hobby a full time job. I would not be doing this without the massive amount of support and encouragement from my players. With that, I would like to invite you to join our community. I have been making stories with systems similar to DnD since I was in Highschool. When I started playing DnD and eventually gained the confidence to become a DM in every game I was in my players kept asking me to extend the session length, even upwards of lasting the whole day. Then when I learned people have made a living doing this I decided to reach out to StartPlayGames and see what I can add to this community!

Creating your character
Campaign will start at level 1 with an extra 200gp worth of adventuring gear. We will be able to expect to get to around level 15 with added homebrew content and using Sebastian Crowe's Grim Hollow Expansion for additional content! Character creation will involve Grim Hollow's .Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim featuring: 1 new class, the Apothecary, 21 new Subclasses, and 13 new Feats! We will also be altering the Attunement system in favor of a BG3 style "Paper Doll" equipment manager. Character creation I am deviating from my usual pointbuy method and attempt rolling for stats for character creation. We will roll for stats using 6 rounds of 4d6, drop the lowest. I will allow a complete reroll if the sum of the stats are lower than 70. Rolling for stats will be done in FoundryVTT
Party is level 3 and consists of: 2 Rangers Warlock Fighter

How Count Camerox creates a safe table
My goal with how I have FoundryVTT setup is to make learning it as painless and as simple as possible. I use a beautiful UI mod to organize your moves into Actions, Bonus Action, Free Actions, and Reactions so you know which abilities are which. Also, with a simple, target enemy and a click of your weapon, the game will automatically roll to hit and damage leading to minimal time between turns and a faster paced game! No one likes waiting forever to get back to their turn. Lastly, I make sure at the end of every session to do a recap of the important lore bits we experienced as well as what lies ahead in the next session!
