Menaces & Troubles in Otari: A PF2e Newbie Friendly Campaign

Menaces & Troubles in Otari: A PF2e Newbie Friendly Campaign

Pathfinder 2e | Campaign

About the adventure

"Nestled on the edge of the Isle of Kortos, the bustling fishing town of Otari has long been a haven for adventurers, merchants, and pioneers. Known for its hardworking citizens, thriving lumber trade, and the ominous ruins hidden in its surrounding wilderness, Otari is no stranger to danger. But recently, strange happenings have unsettled the town’s peace: eerie lights flicker in the ancient Gauntlight lighthouse, whispers of missing townsfolk grow louder, and rumors of dark forces rising from the depths have spread like wildfire. With the town council anxious and the town guard stretched thin, Otari is in desperate need of heroes to uncover the truth and face the lurking threats. Whether you're a bold adventurer seeking glory, a local with a personal stake in the town’s fate, or someone simply looking for a way to make a quick coin, Otari needs you. The question is: are you ready to answer the call?" Menace Under Otari is a an adventure included in the Beginner Box and Troubles in Otari is an anthology of three adventures. This campaign should take the PCs from Level 1 to Level 4. If you are looking for a sandbox campaign in a coastal region, this game is for you! I am also willing to continue this campaign to Abomination Vault. My name is Isaac and I shall be your Gamemaster for this campaign! I have 9 years of experience in Tabletop RPG. I have also created several adventure modules, including Pathfinder 2e. I have been GMing Pathfinder 2e for more than three years and I am looking forward to run this for you! Menace Under Otari - Troubles in Otari campaign should last around 8 - 12 sessions (or longer if the group decides to turn it into a sandbox campaign). NOTE: I will reschedule a session if there's only three players that are available to play.

Game style

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

How to prepare

1. Check this YouTube playlist on beginner guide for Pathfinder 2e: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn3PApm8tx0c07YnP3Rztn4MX7ztnWuLx 2. Prepare a short character concept that can be expanded after Session 0 and Character Creation (e.g. a half-orc knight looking for their lost mentor, a goblin potion brewer who wants to create a cure for an illness, etc) 3. Make sure to have a working microphone, stable internet connection, and Discord account. 4. Make sure that you have a https://forge-vtt.com/ account. We will be using their server to play in Foundry. (You do not need to buy Foundry to create a Forge account. Forge is the server provider for Foundry)

What I provide

I shall be using Foundry VTT, complete with Pathfinder 2e compendium. You can expect maps and images for visual aids. Expect character voices and immersive ambient music to help you immerse yourself in the game! I have a lot of fun doing voices and I believe music is very important to build the game's mood. The game will be a sandbox in the Otari region, with balance between combat encounters, social encounters, and exploration.

Gameplay details

In our Session 0, we will discuss any trigger warnings that the players have. We use Lines & Veils. We will take breaks after an hour passes in the session. If you need to take your own break, please do, as long as you at least let me know personally. After the session ends, we may discuss about the session, what happened, anything that needs to be talked about.
