About the adventure

"Nestled on the edge of the Isle of Kortos, the bustling fishing town of Otari has long been a haven for adventurers, merchants, and pioneers. Known for its hardworking citizens, thriving lumber trade, and the ominous ruins hidden in its surrounding wilderness, Otari is no stranger to danger. But recently, strange happenings have unsettled the town’s peace: eerie lights flicker in the ancient Gauntlight lighthouse, whispers of missing townsfolk grow louder, and rumors of dark forces rising from the depths have spread like wildfire. With the town council anxious and the town guard stretched thin, Otari is in desperate need of adventurers to help out. Whether you're a bold adventurer seeking glory, a local with a personal stake in the town’s fate, or someone simply looking for a way to make a quick coin, Otari needs you. The question is: are you ready to go on an adventure?" Adventures in Otari is a sandbox campaign, currently using materials from Menace Under Otari, Troubles in Otari, Abomination Vault, and my personal twists. If you are looking for a sandbox campaign in a coastal region, this game is for you! Note: This campaign is not limited to the Otari region, as I will prepare accordingly to what quests that the players want to do and which locations that the players want to go. My name is Isaac and I shall be your Gamemaster for this campaign! I have 9 years of experience in Tabletop RPG. I have also created several adventure modules, including Pathfinder 2e. I have been GMing Pathfinder 2e for more than three years and I am looking forward to run this for you! Looking for one more player because two had to leave/take a break due to scheduling conflicts.

About me

My name is Isaac and I have been playing Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TTRPGs) since 2016. I am a video game Narrative Designer and a freelance film reviewer. I am also a DMsGuild writer for three adventure modules. But my D&D 5e days are over, and I prefer to run other systems instead. I reside in Jakarta, Indonesia, but that does not stop me from running games for people around the world. Some of my longest-playing players are from Canada, Mexico, and India. Through TTRPGs, I have married the love of my life, forged long-lasting friendships, and share my love of the hobby. Due to my current financial situation, and with the encouragement of my friends & players, I have decided to become a GM for Hire. I am currently running two Pathfinder 2e paid campaigns, and have previously run a D&D 5e paid campaign and two Call of Cthulhu paid campaigns. I will say my experience with various TTRPG systems have made me use the things that I have learned from those games and apply it to all of my games. My focus on story, narrative, immersion, and well-paced timing & moments will be something that you can look forward to. Horror, Mystery, Thriller, and Sociopolitical stories are my expertise, but I am also willing to run games that are outside of that. You can find my players testimonies and reviews of my GMing in this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V9zbLrQyO6Pi1bf1gSa7zank-eYz23R4VLOQp80z7R4/edit?usp=sharing I will see you at my table!

Character creation
Creating your character

Character creation will be done in Session 0. The character sheets will be provided in Foundry. I will allow any content from Archives of Nethys Pathfinder 2e, as long as its Common (Uncommon or Rare needs to be discussed).

The current party

Current party composition (Level 4): - Aiuvarin (Half-Elf) Swashbuckler - Human Cleric - Ratfolk Monk Variant Rules: - Free Archetype - Ancestry Paragon - Keeley's Hero Point (if hero point reroll die is 10 or less, get a +10 bonus instead) Right now, the party is in Otari just taking odd jobs and small quests to gain enough money to renovate their base in an old fishing camp. Don't be alarmed if the game changes from Pending to Active during the game day, because the remaining three players still want to play. You can still apply to the game.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

1. Check this YouTube playlist on beginner guide for Pathfinder 2e if you're new to Pathfinder 2e: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn3PApm8tx0c07YnP3Rztn4MX7ztnWuLx 2. Prepare a short character concept that can be expanded after Session 0 and Character Creation (e.g. a half-orc knight looking for their lost mentor, a goblin potion brewer who wants to create a cure for an illness, etc). Check the Ancestries, Heritages, and Classes here: https://2e.aonprd.com/Ancestries.aspx, https://2e.aonprd.com/Ancestries.aspx?Versatile=true, https://2e.aonprd.com/Classes.aspx 3. Make sure to have a working microphone, stable internet connection, and Discord account. 4. Make sure that you have a https://forge-vtt.com/ account. We will be using their server to play in Foundry. (You do not need to buy Foundry to create a Forge account. Forge is the server provider for Foundry)

What Keeper GM Isaac brings to the table

I shall be using Foundry VTT, complete with Pathfinder 2e compendium. You can expect maps and images for visual aids. Expect character voices and immersive ambient music to help you immerse yourself in the game! I have a lot of fun doing voices and I believe music is very important to build the game's mood. The game will be a sandbox in the Otari region, with balance between combat encounters, social encounters, and exploration.

Safety
How Keeper GM Isaac creates a safe table

In our Session 0, we will discuss any trigger warnings that the players have. We use Lines & Veils. We will take breaks after an hour passes in the session. If you need to take your own break, please do, as long as you at least let me know personally. After the session ends, we may discuss about the session, what happened, anything that needs to be talked about.
