About the adventure

The nights are hot and alive in the bayou. Critters scurry, gators lie in wait, and a group of fledgling Kindred feed in the night. Unawares that this very feeding frenzy is a prelude to a blood-soaked chronicle that carries players through the halls of Camarilla Elysium, the back alleys of Anarch Barons, and even the hallowed pews of the Church of Caine, as they are pulled back and forth between different sects offering safety and potential for power in uncertain nights. This is a Vampire: The Masquerade Chronicle set in modern night Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It uses The Crimson Gutter to provide a framework in which a Southern Gothic Political Thriller is built on top of it. This chronicle introduces core concepts during play such as feeding, the sects (Anarchs, Camarilla, and the Church of Caine), and the Masquerade itself while giving the players' characters a chance to carve a niche for themselves among the Kindred.

About me

I am a queer, nonbinary writer, designer, streamer whose been working in the industry for five slutty, slutty years. I am the founder and creative director of Carrion Comfort, which produces creative, kind, and ultimately weird Tabletop games, content, and streams that punch up, not down. My passion for labor rights, indie developers, LGBTQ+ issues, and my Appalachian roots shine throughout the stories I wants to see in the industry and beyond. Outside of streaming and TTRPGs, I love wrestling, logic puzzles, mythology, culinary art, and my pets, Jigsaw & Rustin.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will occur in Session 0 over Discord. The characters will be stored in a Roll20 game I will have set up. Come with an idea in mind, but expect to adjust to other players' wants and the story.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Webcam is not necessary, but is welcome. A decent microphone and internet connection is required so that we can understand you clearly. This is not Play by Post. No dice is needed. This will be played in Roll20

What Wes Franks brings to the table

We will be playing on Roll20. The campaign will have full-blown maps, NPC Dossiers, Locations, Clues, and more. I use ambiance and music to heighten drama within the game. I utilize Roll20 pro to the best of its ability to make sure your game runs as smoothly as possible. I also provide game materials and other resources to help players have a full and firm grasp of the game system involved.

Safety

How Wes Franks creates a safe table

There will be an anonymous Lines and Veils Form provided before Session 0. I utilize the X-Card, Stoplight, and Open Door Safety Systems to make sure that players are as comfortable as possible. I prefer to have tables that are conscious, not only of their own enjoyment with the game, but the other players as well.
