About the adventure

Embark on an epic journey into the rugged frontier of the Sword Coast, where danger and discovery await at every turn. Lost Mine of Phandelver takes place in a land of untamed wilderness and ancient ruins, set a short distance from the bustling city of Neverwinter. Players will face treacherous foes, unearth hidden secrets, and decide the fate of the small town of Phandalin as they delve deeper into the mysteries of the region.

Recruiting notes

I'm looking to run this adventure as a possible kicking-off point to a full campaign. If we finish the adventure and people were interested, I'd consider running another module, possibly Storm King or Broken Obelisk as a follow-up.

How to prepare

have Discord, decent internet, and a mic. i'll be running Foundry by way the The Forge, so i'll send you the link once the campaign is active.

What I provide

I'll be using FoundryVTT and Discord, and won't be using video or recording sessions although you can if you want. I won't have any dedicated ambience to start, but its something I’m looking into. I'm going to try and balance roleplay and combat, and to maintain NPC voices, but it’s not my strong suit; I’m trying to get better, and feedback is always appreciated. Rule of Cool trumps RAW every time.

Gameplay details

Player safety and comfort are top priorities. To create a respectful and inclusive environment, we will use safety tools like X, N, and O cards, allowing players to communicate their comfort levels during gameplay. The X card lets players skip content they find distressing, the N card signals discomfort and suggests a scene shift, and the O card indicates full comfort and enthusiasm. These tools will be available through chat options or verbally in-game. Additionally, we will establish lines and veils during a Sesion Zero discussion to define hard boundaries and fade-to-black topics, ensuring everyone's limits are respected. To manage emotional intensity, we will monitor bleed—the overlap between players' emotions and their characters' experiences. Check-ins will occur after heavy scenes, and each session will conclude with a brief aftercare discussion, offering players a chance to share feedback, decompress, and ensure they leave feeling positive and grounded. An open-door policy will also be in place, allowing players to step away from the game at any time for any reason. These tools ensure a collaborative and safe experience for everyone, keeping the focus on fun and adventure.
