Sincerely, -REDACTED- --- The Dark Spiral is a thrilling adventure in the world of "The Strange" Your character is one of select few who can travel into Earth’s shoals to discover and explore the seemingly limitless recursions around our world. You are a member of an elite few, part of a clandestine operation which protects Earth against extradimensional incursions. And its time to get to work. Expect a ton of roleplay, exploring your character, and a variety of genres spanning horror, science fiction, fantasy, and modern-day espionage. The key to playing in this type of game is the story. You dont earn points for killing foes or overcoming regular challenges, you will earn advancements by exploring, discovering, creating, and telling one hell of a good story. In short, the only real way to “win” is to come away with a great tale. How to prepare
• Decent internet access • Good Audio input (a headset/good microphone - note speakers echo and on board mic's are hard to hear) • Discord (free download or browser-based) • Two dice, a D20 and a D6, and no worries if you dont have physical dice Discord can roll for you!
What I provide
If it has been published for the Cypher System, Eric owns it. Expect years of knowledge and game resources, SRD material, handouts and a sweet discord setup for tracking and journaling. Ambient tunes are ready to go and you can count on Eric to show up prepared to cultivate an environment where you can have a killer good time.
Gameplay details
We leverage safety tools to promote a positive and safe place to play together. When you join, you affirm the following: "I wont attack other players or steal from them (PVP) and I will play a character who isnt explicity evil or selfish. I will respect the narrative consent of others and be a team player. I promise not to engage in problematic play and I will come to the table with a great attitude." This is a positive place that welcomes all and is a LGBTQ+ space. We will go over additional safety details in session 0, but make note Eric leverages the safety system based on the TTRPG Safety Toolkit using red, and yellow cards. ⚠️The campaign does not contain: sexual assault, racial prejudice, systemic racism, homophobia, or transphobia. ⛔Zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. This includes breaking safety and consent lines. We play games that emphasize emergent play - the kind of stuff that comes up when everyone "plays to find out" what happens next. If you come to the table in good faith and ready to roleplay at your comfort level, you are going to have a good time. One of GM Eric V's guiding principles is to create the space for you to be yourself and have a great time. Over the years I find that the folks who have the best time are looking for an experience that values roleplay, enjoys (or is willing to learn improv), and likes to flex character abilities in combat in equal measure.

How will character creation work
I have made some cool characters for you to play if you dont want to mess around wtih character creation. It is dead simple to make characters together with plenty of instructions in discord before the game and final adjustments in session zero. If joining after kickoff I will meet with you personally to help craft a character to join the team.
