Rule of Cool
A DM who strikes the perfect balance between structure and creativity. The sessions are packed with action, excitement, and a solid dose of the rule of cool. Beyond the game the DM is friendly and takes the time to chat, ensuring everyone feels welcome and engaged. Whether youre a new player or a seasoned adventurer the dm creates a fun immersive experience where your ideas and choices truly matter. Highly recommend!
Very fun game with this GM, perfect for new players and also more experienced. Good craic was had all round and one of my friends playing even cracked open some strawberry vodka which only helped to enhance the experience. Was a lovely time playing and will definitely return for more games in the future.
Been playing with this DM since meeting him at the gaming club in Uni. If you're looking for a DM who gets that TTRPGs are about good stories, good laughs, then Rory's your guy! He's all about immersive worlds and weaving those player decisions right into the fabric of things. Battles are a blast, with tactics mattering as much as a bit of outside-the-box thinking. He's not the type to get hung up on the nitty-gritty rules, so if you're more of a "theatre of the mind" player, it'll be a perfect fit.

What I provide
As your GM, I strive to provide an immersive, dynamic, and player-focused experience for everyone at the table. Here's what you can expect from my Mines of Phandelver campaign: Tools & Resources • Virtual Tabletop (VTT): I run sessions on Owlbear Rodeo, featuring detailed, custom maps tailored for exploration, dungeons, and combat. • Custom Tokens & Visuals: High-quality tokens and atmospheric visuals that bring NPCs, monsters, and the world of Phandelver to life. • D&D Beyond Integration: If you prefer to manage your character through D&D Beyond, I’ll ensure a seamless connection with the VTT for rolls, stats, and more. • Music & Ambience: Curated ambient soundscapes and music for each scene—expect eerie caves, lively taverns, and heart-pounding combat tracks. My GM Style • Roleplaying & Storytelling: I embrace rich character interactions and dramatic story arcs. I bring NPCs to life with distinct voices, personalities, and quirks—whether it's the gruff innkeeper or a sinister villain lurking in the shadows. • Tactical Combat & Exploration: Combat will be challenging and rewarding, utilizing thoughtful tactical maps that reward clever positioning, teamwork, and creative thinking. Resource management and exploration will play key roles in this campaign, making each decision meaningful. • Rule of Cool Meets RAW: While I respect the Rules as Written (RAW) to maintain fairness and balance, I fully embrace the Rule of Cool. Creative ideas, heroic moments, and clever plans that make the game more fun are encouraged! • Player Agency: This is your story as much as mine. I’ll adapt the narrative based on your choices, ensuring your characters’ decisions carry weight in the world.
